Parwich were represented by 4 runners in the Ashbourne half marathon and fun run. Bertie L the 6th boy to finish the fun run, just ahead of Izzy P who was the third girl to finish.
In the half marathon Sue P was only a few minutes ahead of Graham J, he was running his first half marathon and has never run more than 10 miles. Both runners finished in less that 1 hour 50 minutes, on what is considered a tough course, going up a number of hills near Thorpe and Blore before finishing back at the rugby ground.
Well done to everyone – a great morning.

Judging by the grimaces, you would be hard pressed to know we do this for fun. A big thank you to the Parwich runners supporters association who gave us lots of encouragement over the 13 miles. I was soundly beaten by Sue P who finished a good 5 minutes ahead, but check out No. 94 who looks about half my age, but most importantly is………….behind me!
Well done all of you. Time to apply for the London Marathon I think – it will be a good excuse to get a load of supporters together to cheer you all on.
How do you find out what position you came in the fun run. Does anyone know a website?
