Guinea Pig dilemma

Guinea PigOne of our guinea pigs has recently died of old age leaving her 2 year old companion Millie.  We do not want to get rid of her; but equally do not want her to be on her own.  We are reluctant to get another young guinea pig friend for her; as we are nearing the end of our guinea pig years and if we keep replacing one, can’t quite see how it will end!  Does anyone also have a guinea pig in need of companionship who would like Millie?  She is used to over wintering in a frost free greenhouse (in her hutch) and going out, weather permitting, in a run on the grass in the day.  Both hutch and run could go with her to a good home.   Rebecca 318

Nothing fancy, but it is good quality, post war ‘service furniture’. The chest is 71 cm high, 99 cm long and 43 cm deep. There are three drawers.

To arrange a viewing, please call Debbie on 568.

Our very very loved, but very very naughty Golden Retreiver, BART has been missing for approx 16 hours. Although Bart is renowned for “razzling” and running off, it is usually only for about 1 hour max.

BART

We are very worried about him, if anyone should see him, please please let us know! If you don’t know Bart, he is a very dark, almost ginger Golden Retriever, very skinny. He is wearing a blue collar with Tag. (Known by some as the Ginger Fox!) Please, please can everyone keep a look out for Bart, we are all desperately worried about him and want him home.

Please contact us on 01335 390 677 or 0770 290 9484  nicki@theclosefarm.co.uk

THANK YOU!!!!!

This info from Nicki was sent in as a comment, but we have put it in as a post, in the hopes that someone will be able to find Bart.  If we can add a photo we will.

Hello. My name is Diane Brown. At the moment I live in Atlow where I have lived for 12 years. I am looking for a house to rent for now, with a possibility of buying in the longer term: preferably somewhere with 4 bedrooms. I’m sure you’ll all agree that Parwich is a beautiful village, so of course I am interested in finding somewhere there.

I run my own business Potions Club which some of the children in your village have been to, so I’m already a bit known in Parwich. I have been keeping an eye out on your website and will continue to do so. Thank you very much.

Diane Brown (please email via Potions Club on info@potionsclub.com)

Odeon buy kids ticket, get free adult ticket
In cinema offer – nearest cinema – Derby

As part of the Odeon Kids promotion you can get a free adult ticket when you buy a kids ticket at Odeon cinemas. The offer applies to selected screenings on Saturday and Sunday mornings and during school holidays. To find the tickets, visit the Odeon website and choose your cinema.

Then select ‘Filter events by: Kids’ in the ‘Now Showing’ box to see available screenings. When booking online, the adult ticket price will be taken off when you click ‘Calculate Prices’. You can also buy these tickets on the day in the cinema, but if your kids (or you!) have their hearts set on a particular film it’s worth booking to avoid disappointment.

You can only get one free adult ticket with every child ticket purchased. A child ticket costs around £2.50 and an adult ticket is generally between £6 – £10, depending on the cinema, so you could save yourself up to a tenner with this offer.

If there is anyone out there who likes playing on tractors? We need someone to chain harrow and roll our paddocks. The tractor is a small hobby tractor and easy to drive. Changing the implements on the back does need a bit of strength. It could be suitable for an older teenager (with parental permission) after school and weekends or anyone that has a few hours to spare over the next two weeks. Pay according to age.
Please contact Patti or Brian Beasley on 206.

Credit Crunch Busters

If you fancy a very cheap, almost free flight, now is the time to book. Ryanair have alot of flights at £2.50 per person including taxes. There are lots of choices from East Midlands & Birmingham & even more from Stansted. For example you could fly for 3-7 nights in June to Santander in Northern Spain and within an hour be walking or climbing in the Picos Mountains for £5 return. You only have until midnight tomorrow to get this deal and it is only valid during May & June (excluding holidays). There will always be other offers, but this is probably the cheapest ever.

Credit Crunch Savings

RyanAir have just released £5 flights including taxes (but not all the optional charges) the offer is only available until midnight tomorrow.  i.e. – Sat 9th May returning Wed 13th May – £5 each way from East Midlands to Carcassonne.  There are 20 destinations available from East Midlands & 27 from Birmingham.

You do have to be patient,  searching & being  flexible on dates to get the £5 flights – it states Special Offer when the dates & times of flights come up.  We have used this offer twice in the past two years – as long as you don’t mind Ryan Air it can be a cheap break away.

As a team we have decided to keep our eyes open for any credit Crunch Busting Ideas – basically anything that might save you money.   So if you come across anything in the area that might help someone save some pennies.  These ideas may cover eating out, so include places like Derby (lunch ideas), Buxton, Bakewell etc., they may be savings on food or an incredible holiday or flight deal – just email them into parwich@hotmail.com – but don’t forget to include where these offers can be found – in which newspaper or on which website.

An excellent source of offers is to register with the Martin Lewis Money Saving website, you will receive an email every Wednesday & you can click on the Restaurant section to find out which eatery will save you the most money.

Here are a couple to get us going. (more…)
