Gill Radcliffe launches new website displaying her paintings
Gill Radcliffe will be opening her studio during Spring Bank Holiday weekend, May 25th to 27th as part of the Derbyshire Open Arts 2013 event. In support of this Gill has today launched a new website www.gillianradcliffe-art.net showing 181 of her paintings.

Unfortunately we have had to take the difficult decision to cancel this month’s Film show, as the heating in the Hall is unreliable, and we could not guarantee that the hall would be warm.

Based on the book THE HELP, this charming comedy set in Mississippi during the 1960s tells of a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends’ lives — and a small Mississippi town — upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families. Aibileen, Skeeter’s best friend’s housekeeper, is the first to open up — to the dismay of her friends in the tight-knit black community. Despite Skeeter’s life-long friendships hanging in the balance, she and Aibileen continue their collaboration and soon more women come forward to tell their stories — and as it turns out, they have a lot to say.

This Saturday night, there is a barn dance in the memorial hall. It is a fundraising event for Help for Heroes and RBL.
Tickets are £10 and include a BBQ.
Tickets are available from the behind the bar at the Legion, or from Ed and Nia. They will also be on sale on the night.
It will be a fabulous evening, so please join us.
