Parwich Church is looking very fine with GS and AK’s flower arrangements ready for tonight’s concert. Tickets have sold well and if you want to sit in the nave phone tel. 01335 390 529 to reserve your seat, with only a few left. On Sunday 26th April Parwich village will be celebrating St George’s Day with a day full of events. It starts at 10.15am with an Oddfellows parade from The British Legion, accompanied by Doveholes Brass Band. Everyone is invited to join in this procession, and children are encouraged to dress up either as St George or the dragon!
At 11am there is a special service in the Church, and we are all invited to join the Oddfellows and Cyberscouts.
The procession continues around the village stopping at various points.
Between 1.30 & 3pm the Winster Morris Dancers will be performing. Lunches are available from the Sycamore Inn.
From 2pm there will be a Church Fete with stalls on The Green. Cream Teas will be available during the afternoon.
There will be live music in the Village Hall and the A52s (well known local band) will be on The Green.
The children’s Fancy Dress costumes will be judged by The Oddfellows.

Lovers of blues music should be interested in a concert which is taking place at Hulland Ward’s village hall on Friday (February 27th).
The Daniel Smith Blues Band are a highly regarded outfit, who have picked up accolades from BBC Radio 2, The Guardian and the national blues press.

Thank you everyone in Parwich that made our weekend stay at Orchard View so memorable. We were made to feel really welcome and looked after really well.

The A52s packed the pub last night with their Christmas gig, with people clustering round the doorways unable to get into the bar. An excellent evening; hopefully there will be lots more. Thank you to John FS for these two photos:

If you’re looking for a cracking way to celebrate the run into Christmas week, come on down to The Sycamore on Friday 19th December where The A52s (Parwich’s foremost rock-folk combo) will try very hard to entertain you.
Once the band have finished driving their limos into the duckpond, they will play a selection of Christmas-themed tunes (plus the usual all-year-round stuff). The brawl gig begins at 9.00pm.
Admission free. Earplugs cost a fiver. Each.
