Another extremely successful Wakes Week is over and thanks must go to everyone who took part, spectators, participants, organisers and helpers, but without the hard work of the committee who meet, plan and co-ordinate the events we wouldn’t have this amazing week. So special thanks to Kerry Allsop, Janet Bainbridge, Sandra Chadfield, Roger Cundy, Liz Edge, Denis Laycock, Alan & Barbara Lowes, Paula Lynam, Sharon Swindell and Karen Wigley.
Next year’s Wakes begins on Saturday 30th June 2012.

Thank you Blog team and photographers -you have given us a wonderful, colourful, comprehensive coverage of this year’s wakes events. We have enjoyed the fly on the wall journalism, the extensive range of photographs and the daily reminder of events to come. I know that some of you have been up into the early hours making sure that reports were posted as soon as they had happened. We have really appreciated the results of your hard work and the lovely record of our village life.
I would like to thank all concerned who helped to makeWakes this year such a great success!
I really think it was the best ever!
