QEGS Shut Today

Mon1903 0636am.Unfortunately our school site is unsafe for staff and students today. The snow and ice combined with freezing temperatures has left thick ice which our site team are working hard to clear. Student and staff safety is always our priority and regrettably we have had to make the decision to close today (19032018)in order to make the site safe.

Due to continued extreme weather conditions, an unsafe school site and unpredictable travel, QEGS will remain closed on Friday 2nd March 2018. School work for students is available via the Snow Work and homework links on the school website. All school events will be rearranged.Details on school show rehearsals will be issued asap.

Thank you to Karen Watson (nee Steeples) who has shared this newspaper cutting with us. It is from the Ashbourne Telegraph December 1970 and records the retirement of Mr Fearn. Karen is on the photo and is easily identified! Can anyone identify the other children? I think I have spotted Janet Bainbridge (nee Goldstraw).

Gardening Help Required

We are looking for parents, governors, friends of the school, well anyone willing to spare us some time!!!We would love it if you could come to school on Tuesday 2nd May at 3.30pm and give the school gardening club a helping hand for 1 hour.
The borders are full of winter weeds and need to be cleared before we can get to the fun part of planting with the children.
We have plenty of equipment, so just turn up, bring a few other family and friends with you and get stuck in.
Many thanks in hopeful anticipation.
