Egret?

Local Projects Fund

Worthy causes in the Derbyshire Dales are being invited to apply to Derbyshire Dales District Council for funds from its Local Projects Fund.

The Fund enables Derbyshire Dales District Councillors to support community led initiatives in the area they represent.  Each year £900 is allocated to each Councillor to allocate to projects or initiatives in their Ward that will benefit the local communities and be valuable to the area.

Applications can be made by local groups that are based within the Derbyshire Dales that can demonstrate community benefit. For example:

  • Parish and town councils (for specific projects only)
  • Young people’s groups
  • Locally based charities
  • Benevolent societies

The District Council welcomes applications from organisations who meet the criteria and it’s now easier than ever to apply online at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/localprojectsfund where further information is availble

Problems at Bradbourne

The Church Warden of Bradbourne rang me to alert Parwich that last night (Thursday) another attempted theft of lead and copper had been attempted from the Bradbourne Church Roof and that from two vehicles tools had been stolen . This is the second attempt in the last month but again tools were taken from buildings and vehicles and we must be aware.

Oil

Given the problems so many are having with the oil club, I wondered about trying to do an independent group order from the village. I was thinking of ordering next week and if anyone else needs oil I should be happy to ring round and see what discount we could get for a village order. If you think this is worth trying the please ring or email me over the weekend and I’ll see what price I can get.
