Ashbourne Town Band were on top form and we are all now feeling extra Christmassy. Also a big thank you to Tarmac for donating the village Christmas tree and to Rob for the awesome mince pies (best ones around).

Bonfire toffee winner

A big thank you to all those that entered our bonfire toffee competition and to Valerie K for judging. The winner was Edwina Flower with batch 2 and was described by Val as ‘just to my liking and delicious’. For those of a similar age to me this will not be a shock as Edwinas bonfire toffee is legendary.

The prize is being delivered to Edwina today. Let us know if you would like us to do it again next year.

The generosity of people last night was greatly appreciated, as was the hard work of all the volunteers (which is still continuing with the big clean up). So from me and the Committee, THANK YOU it all means we can carry on for another year 😊🎇

Parwich Wakes 2021

Well that’s it for Wakes 21 I can honestly say even with it being a slimmed down version I have had a really fab time. Spending time with old and new friends, having a laugh and keeping traditions alive. We really hope you have all managed to have some fun too.

The Carnival and Recreation Committee will be meeting soon to start planning for next year and what we really want to know from you is….
What have you missed this year?
What have you enjoyed this year?
Any suggestions for improvements?
Any ideas we can do for 2022?
Finally are you willing to join our small committee or even just help take on the organisation of one of the events (all/any help would be greatly appreciated!!!)

Either Messenger me, email lucywigley@googlemail.com or just grab me for a chat.

Time for a rest now and see you all on Saturday 2nd July 2022.

Ball Race Tonight

The Ball Race will take place tonight at 7.30pm on Pump Hill. The uptake for balls has been fantastic and for that we want to give you all a big thank you as now we have a bit of money in the pot for Bonfire night and next Wakes!! We were worried we wouldn’t sell as many this year which is why we changed the prizes to a % share but you haven’t let us down 😊. Next year the prizes will return to normal.

It’s looking like we may have 580 balls to release, if this is the case the prizes will be as follows:
First ball across the line = £116 (20%)
Second ball across the line = £58 (10%)
Third ball across the line = £29 (5%)

We will inform the winners tonight, including the confirmed amounts and also put it on Facebook and Parwich. Org

Any questions just let me know

3 days to go….

You can also download the programme.

Don’t forget to let me know before Friday at 4pm where you will be in your fancy dress so we can plan the judges route. Following the judging all those in fancy dress are invited to join in a socially distanced parade around the village starting at 6pm from the Village Green. This will give more people in the village the opportunity to see you all.
