The Legion would like to thank everyone who contributed to, and who attended, the harvest auction last night.
The generosity of the donators and the bidders was amazing and we managed to raise £500 for the Independent Welfare Fund!

We have received the following from the Parwich Oddfellows:
To everyone who helped and supported us, and most of all showed their friendship.
Now the Wakes Week as ended, I don’t think we can say, “now the dust can settle” I haven’t seen any over the last week due to the inclement weather.
Last Saturday we marched off from outside our base, thanks to the Sycamore Inn, and its a big thanks also to the Carnival and Recreation Committee with the Parwich RBL for the week we all had, you have more than helped us, and to say we ended the week on the right note was down to the RBL team and our Brother Hotch, (who can ring a bell as well), I think I can quietly say people enjoyed the night.
Big thanks also to Mick and Val on the BBQ, organising and giving your time, it is appreciated greatly.
Thanks also goes to Petal (A Flower) for his trailer. The family fun afternoon will hopefully take place when the weather improves, we will keep you posted and we hope to see you all there.
Most of all its the friendship that’s within the village that creates such a good week for the Oddfellows, and the support given by adults and now juniors joining the Lodge, this keeps us strong and secure for the future, so thank you Brothers and Sisters.
Thank you again to all involved and the support everyone gives.
The Committee.

Don’t forget that you can also see photos in other locations besides the Blog. There are some excellent photos from last night on the Legion’s Facebook page:

There are some especially good ones of Mrs Miggins’ Pie Shoppe’s newest member. And then there are some 97 more photos on the band’s Facebook page:

The Parwich Royal British Legion have had a replica sign made so that they can protect Paul Burlinson’s original inside. Click here to see their original Facebook post on this.
You may have noticed that our Legion sign painted by Paul Burlinson has been missing since February, this was to protect the original from the elements whilst we made a replica to replace it to ensure we could protect such an amazing legacy which Paul left us. The original is now up in pride of place inside the legion, whilst the replica made by Cameron Jewitt and Joe Beech of Acres Signs and Graphics, is now placed outside to greet all our patrons.
Thanks to everyone who has helped us with this project and we hope you enjoy the sign as much as we do and also special thanks and remembrance for Paul who was a key member of the team here at Parwich Legion someone we all miss greatly. Here are some sign preparation photos.
It is particularly appropriate to be able to post this on the eve of the centenary commemorations of the Battlle of the Somme.
