I am selling a range of plants, mainly shrubs at present, including pheasant berry or Himalayan honeysuckle. All proceeds for the next ten days will go to the Carnival & Recreation Committee. If this works, I will try more plants sales for other village causes.
The plants for sale are by the road on the entrance to the drive. If no one is about just put whatever you would like to pay in the honesty box.

We have brewed elderflower “champagne” and it is nearly ready to bottle.
If anyone has any empty plastic fizzy drink bottles, preferably 1 litre size, we’d be very grateful to have them. We need 25 in total, all contributions welcome!

Home for Billy?

A home needs to be found for Billy, a black and white cat who is currently in the care of Cheadle Animal Welfare Society.. He doesn’t like being cooped up in a pen while a home is found for him as he loves the outdoors. Billy is very much an independent cat, preferring his own company. He doesn’t want to be fussed, he just wants to be left alone to do what he wants to do when he wants to do it. He needs a home where he can be looked after but live outside with a dry safe place to sleep and eat. It needs to be a home where there are no children or other cats and most importantly one which is in the country. Billy is microchipped and neutered. These birds were hatched here in Parwich last August. The pure breed eggs were purchased and the cross breeds are from our own hens, which can be seen (as can their parents!).

Cockerels available

We have a number of cockerels available, free to good homes. All of the birds have been hatched and reared at our house (Pond Cottage) in Parwich during the summer of 2016.
First up is ‘Hamlet Jnr’. He is actually a cross between one of our Burford Brown hens and our own cockerel (Hamlet), who is a white Sussex (Alice) / specked Sussex (Anthony) cross. However, he looks just like his Dad. Click on continue reading below to see Hamlet Jnr’s lineage!
The other two are Araucanas, we bought 6 pure breed eggs and incubated them in the spare room. The Araucana is an unusual bird originating from Chile. This breed’s distinguishing features include blue eggs, the colour permeating through to the inside of the shell, unlike all other egg colouring.
We would happily keep all the cockerels but there are too many for our hens…. If you are interested please call Emma or Rob on 203, or 07812 996851. However, please respect our wishes and do not enquire unless you are planning to keep the birds alive.
We have several other cockerels and will be advertising these in due course.
