Dress Alteration – Help

I need a dress taking in for next weekend and I was hoping that there may be someone handy with a needle and thread who would do it for me, I don’t think it will be a major job and I will pay for the service. If anyone can do it they can call 552.
Thanks Tracy

Now we are moving house, we have to decide what not to take with us! So I am disposing of a Triton 2000 woodworking centre (new £354, mine £190) with a powerful Hitachi C9U circular saw (£170, mine £80). Also a substantial ‘Freud’ professional level three and a quarter horsepower plunger router using half inch router bits (£140, mine £60). Also there is a box of 12 varied (and mostly unused) half inch router bits (£15). Plus there is a ‘Trend’ router table with a dust extraction connection and stop button (Cost me £135, accept £40 The total price of the above is £385. You can have the lot of £320. Separately, the Triton centre won’t be sold without the Hitachi saw. The router table won’t be sold without the router. Visit Fernlea House to take a look, or call 01335 390500.

Thanks Keith Parsons.

Caroline H writes:

Would anyone be able to look after our cocker spaniel Lily for us for next week?

Ideally, this would be from the morning of Monday August 8th to early evening on Sunday August 14th.

However, we do have a bit of flexibility and could adapt to Thursday to early Sunday evening, or from Friday morning to early Sunday evening.

Commercial rates paid!

As all local kennels are fully booked, it would help us a lot if anyone could have her.

Please phone me on 07767 426107.

Many thanks
Caroline

It’s Gotta Go!

Avril is selling her Peugeot 206 coupe cabriolet which she’s had from new and is in very good condition. Its only done 26,500 miles (!) and has been kept garaged. Its automatic with a 1.6 litre engine that does about 39 miles to the gallon. MOT’d until 18th March 2012, it also has road tax paid until February 2012.

Yours for £3,100, not a high price for such a low mileage car with a retractable electric roof. By the way, both car and roof have been completely reliable.

You can see it by calling Avril or Keith on 01335 390500 or calling at Fernlea House opposite the Village Hall.

I have 2 tickets for Sunday 17th July 10.30am at the Buxton Festival (excellent seats 2nd row)

Will Hutton – Them and Us: Politics, Greed and Inequality
17 July, 10.30am. Opera House

Will Hutton’s latest book shows how our society has fragmented into inequality and sets out a powerful and brilliantly argued call for a fair society. His heartfelt campaign is for no less than a radical transformation of Britain, from its political system, media, and its over-reliance on big finance to the very values we live by. Writer, columnist and former editor of The Observer, Will Hutton musters convincing arguments for political change based on a firm moral framework, and his book is certain to inform the current affairs agenda for some time to come.

Tickets: £10

Please let me know if you can use them.

Myself and my family {26 in total} including grand children, are looking to holiday in your village. Can anyone suggest suitable accommodation for us in your area? We are looking at a two month stay: August and September, or November and December.

We don’t mind our party staying in separate cottages etc.

Kind regards, Vicky Hamilton – vickyhamilton19@yahoo.co.uk

Last month we featured a post sent in by Rannoch L, about his trip to South America and his urgent quest for work.

Thank you to Debbie W for sending in this comment,

I just wanted to say that following Rannoch L’s classified advertisement on Parwich.org for work, I hired him to wash my windows and clean the wooden sills, and was not disappointed. He did such a great job. I’ve enjoyed looking through my sparkling windows today! If anyone needs jobs done, I’d highly recommend giving Rannoch a call.

So give him a ring on 661 or email ed_and_nia@yahoo.co.uk to discuss potential jobs and rates.

Work Wanted

Rannoch Linnell has been offered an amazing opportunity to go with 11 other boys and 2 teachers to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands for a month in summer 2012. Whilst on the Galapagos Islands he will be a volunteer working with a disadvantaged community, this may involve working with local children or helping in building projects. In Ecuador they will be trekking through the Andes, followed by a challenging hike through the Amazon Rainforest to work with local tribesmen.

The planning of the trip is done in co-ordination with the World Challenge organisation, but once abroad the teenagers have to organise everything themselves!

So, Rannoch needs to earn money to pay for the trip. He is willing to do almost anything; labouring, gardening, mowing, decorating, babysitting etc. He is available most Sundays and throughout the school holidays. Give him a ring on 661 or email ed_and_nia@yahoo.co.uk to discuss potential jobs and rates.
