Diary updates ASAP

We are updating the Parwich.org Diary page, so if you have any Alsop, Ballidon, Parwich or Pikehall events (December, January and February) that you want to go in the Diary in time to be included in the Peak Five Churches Magazine’s December/January issue, please send them in by tomorrow evening, Saturday 21st of November. (Note, there is not a separate January issue, so the next one will not be until February.)

Including our Diary in the Church magazine is important as it helps you reach some of those who are not on-line.

Please send Diary information to parwich@hotmail.co.uk or ring me on tel. 287.

Thank you, Peter

Thank you Katy W for passing on this sad news from Ian at Village Games, Derbyshire Dales District Council. It is a real shame, as those who attended were really enjoying it.

Please share this email I received….

“I have spoken with Claire after each class since July and I’m aware we haven’t had great attendances thus far. With that in mind, and barring some divine miracle this Saturday where people turn up in droves for the class, it pains me to say that I think we will have to stop the class after Saturday’s session. As we discussed when planning the session initially, Village Games is not about making profit, however we do at least need to cover costs when running sessions such as this one in order to make the session sustainable. Unfortunately we’re not even coming close to achieving this each month and as I’m sure you can appreciate, we can’t continue to run the session in its current state indefinitely. I’m genuinely saddened to write this email, but I’m acutely aware that sometimes, these things just don’t work for one reason or another”

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your hard work and support in trying to make the session a success”

So anyone interested in tomorrow’s session or getting numbers up to try to rescue future sessions do speak to Katy or contact Ian Dipaolo tel 0790 944 3293 asap.

Drama comes to Parwich

IMG_1576

NEW PERSPECTIVES,  an East Midlands based  national touring theatre company,  have chosen Parwich to  put on a production of He Wore a Red Hat. It is described as a Festive Noir Comedy and this is the first time New Perspectives  have  staged a production in the Peak District.  It will also be  the first time a play has been staged in the new memorial hall.

Supported by the Arts Council, the company specialises  in creating dynamic performances for rural audiences,  making ambitious and original theatre. Productions are toured nationally and overseas.

Put Sunday 13 December  2015 at 7.30pm in your diaries.

The Whodunit comedy is suitable for  ages 12 to 112.

Tickets are £10 each and  will be available through  Janet Gosling at the Sycamore or online https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/date/211639
