John H writes:

I’ve just been informed that the Over Sixties Group Carol Service planned for Thursday has just been cancelled.

Several of the groups have advised that they will not be coming because of the weather, and the current lack of parking space in the village due to the lying piles of snow has made continuing with the event unadvisable.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Remembrance Sunday

2010 saw the 55th Dovedale Dash and although chilly and a little soggy underfoot, it was a wonderfully sunny day.  Parwich and Alsop were well represented, fielding 21 runners (including 5 friends) out of 1500 runners.  Apologies that the photos are not as sharp as they could be, but the runners were just too fast and sorry if I have missed anyone out.

In the children’s race, Bethany was the first girl in the Under 10’s and Emily the first girl in the Under 8’s and Ben was one of the younger runners.

In the main race, Clive R, veteran, led the Parwich group in, followed by Sue P, Jacob (only 9) and then Graham J.  Well done to the rest – Izzy, Seth, Nia, Thayer, Lexie, Reuben, Josh, Brian G, Jamie D, Mark W and the Linnell’s friends.

Next Year’s run is on Sunday 6th November!

Thank you to Rebecca for this update on the final coffee morning total, and the lost property notice:

The final total raised for Macmillan Cancer Support is £437.85, thanks to further donations from people who could not attend the coffee morning and gifts on behalf of Judith and Alan Smith’s silver wedding anniversary.

I have also acquired a red and white stripped canvas bag left after the coffee morning, if the owner would like to claim it.

Many thanks,
Rebecca (390318) and Sandra
