Oil Club Price

This weekend’s rate is £0.5379 ppl* for the Parwich, Tissington & Bradbourne Heating Oil Club

Oil prices continue an upward trajectory this week with Brent crude just over $73 a barrel as US Tariffs spark oil supply concerns. However the Pound continues to hold up against the US Dollar, reducing some of the price rises of kerosene to UK customers.

Top up before the Easter rush: With Easter less than a month away, we recommend ordering soon if you wish to beat the increased demand and delivery timelines around Easter.
Estimated delivery times are currently 7 to 12 working days from when club orders close on Monday, and are subject to weather and supply conditions. If you are low, or have less than 6 weeks supply left, this order is not suitable.

New York, 1961. Against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota arrives with his guitar and revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music. He forges intimate relationships with music icons of Greenwich Village on his meteoric rise, culminating in a groundbreaking and controversial performance that reverberates worldwide. Timothée Chalamet stars and sings as Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s A COMPLETE UNKNOWN, the electric true story behind the rise of one of the most iconic singer-songwriters in history.

Message from Open reach

pleased to announce that we have now built Full Fibre broadband to over 250 premises across the Parwich exchange area. Delighted to announce that this also includes the villages of Pikehall and Alsop en le Dale. Recently, through support of the community we secured a significant number of pledges which has enabled us to deliver services to Parwich and Alsop.

Our intention is to continue to build over the coming weeks and months, however we are still a bit short of our funding target which means there is a risk that we may not be able to provide Full Fibre services to the other communities and isolated premises connected to the Parwich exchange. Openreach encourage people to pledge their support for the scheme if they are intending to order services.

The pledge site remains open Connect My Community (openreach.com), people who haven’t pledged yet, but intend to order Full Fibre services, can pledge prior to ordering as this will help obtain the required funding and hopefully hit the target. See further information attached about the scheme.

Appreciating that most people are unclear about the monthly costs once Full Fibre services become available so it would be worth reaching out to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to see what packages are available. A lot of ISPs will upgrade their customers to Full Fibre at no additional charge once it becomes available so worth checking with them. A number of people have already ordered services in the village of Parwich so hopefully people have started to mention this through word of mouth etc.

A link to a list of providers using our network is below.

FTTP providers | Openreach

In terms of areas that have been enabled, people can check whether Full Fibre services are available by following the link below and inserting their postcode and selecting their address. If the response confirms Full Fibre Broadband available as per example below, then they can contact their ISP to upgrade. Some providers may have already contacted their customers.

Thank you for supporting the scheme.

Bar table for sale

Ellie B is selling a bar type table (originally from Dunelm I believe in 2021). 120cm long, 45 cm wide and 90 cm high. 2 stools to come with it.

There are some minor, tiny white flecks of paint on the wood but they are barely noticeable and I am going to try and get rid of every last remnant but may be a few little bits left.

Hoping to sell them all together for £100. Ellie’s number is 07508 340709.

Land For Mini Shetlands?

Hello,

I am very excited to be moving to the village next week. I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I have 2 mini Shetland ponies who may need a home; is there anyone who might be able to rent me a bit of land please or who might like them as companions?

Thanks

Equipment on the hard play area

Please can we remind people to look after and respect the equipment on the hard play area. The school had a multi school netball tournament on Tuesday and every single netball/basketball net had been taken apart or broken. There is another event on Tuesday so please if you are using it and have to move equipment, do it carefully so everyone can make the best use of the facilities. If things are broken please report them to the Parish Council clerk@parwichparishcouncil.org.uk

ARCS Charity Event

We would just like to sincerely thank everybody who supported our fund raiser on Saturday March 8th, whether that was by joining in, providing us with the huge amount of lots for the auction or by being so generous when buying in the auction or by providing a donation.

We would like to thank the Parwich Oddfellows for supporting our event, once again, and also thank them for the generous donation they made to the cause.

Other ‘thank yous’ include Parwich Legion for holding the event, Jimmy and Mick for cooking the BBQ, Rob for organising Blankety Blank and everyone else who helped us.

We’d particularly like to thank Jonathon Hotchin for being our head auctioneer he did an excellent job, he even managed to break Paul’s record for selling 6 eggs for £65 by achieving £80.

Don’t forget if you know anyone who needs help, please let us know.

Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Brent Crude ends the week stable at $70 a barrel, despite demand uncertainty. However, the Pound has strengthened over the US Dollar over the past few weeks, helping to reduce the cost of UK kerosene further this week.

Peak season is upon us, so please order earlier than usual: We are getting reports that a lot of suppliers are now at full capacity and are delivering at the very end of their delivery timelines. Therefore, please ensure you top up earlier at this time of year than usual, to avoid running out before your delivery arrives. Estimated delivery times are currently 7 to 12 working days from when club orders close on Monday, and are subject to weather and supply conditions. If you are low, or have less than 6 weeks winter supply left, this order is not suitable.
