The Minninglow March explores a beautiful circular route from the pretty village of Parwich, a few miles North of Ashbourne, nestled in the Derbyshire Dales.

Well ladies and gentlemen that is it for Wakes 2026 and what a week we have had. We have had everything from Carnival processions, Toboggan, treasure hunts, races, sheep shearing, fun and games, strong man and not forgetting Karaoke – who knew we were such a talented village 😜. I’m exhausted but smiling just thinking about them all.
Wakes would not be possible without the help and support from so many volunteers, the fair and their brilliant offer this year, the Carnival and Recreation Committee, the Oddfellows, Kirsty, Jane,Tom and the Sycamore Team and everyone at the Legion and many more unsung heroes such as Roger and Roy.
So from me to you and our special little village we call home thank you. It’s time for a rest now but we will be back in 2027.

These are informal occasions for anyone who feels they would like to pause and worship for 15-20 mins with Revd Nicola. All are welcome – no advance notice (or ongoing commitment) required. Start time 9:30am. At Thorpe and Hartington, we use the Northumbria Community morning prayer liturgy at other churches Church of England Common Worship morning prayer or NC as feels best to those present.
