Found! Pair of tortoiseshell glasses. They are now tied to the gate near the road above Hill Top Farm. Graham C
Does any one have, or is anyone likely to have, any spare courgette plants that I could buy?
Cheers, Emma (203)

We are having some work done on our kitchen in about three weeks. We wondered if anyone had a microwave and/or two-ring electric hotplate languishing in their attic/shed/garage that they could lend us for about three weeks?
Thanks!
Debbie & Trevor Farm View House 390568
Update 4 May
Thank you for the kind offers we’ve had so far! We’ve now sourced a microwave to borrow. We’d still love to borrow an electric hotplate. All the best,
Deb and Trev

We have received a message saying that there is an injured sheep near the farm on the left hand side as you go out of the village on to the A515. If you know whose sheep they are please let the farmer know. Many thanks.

The last vestiges of winter have been defenestrated, young birds are hatching, lawns are being mowed again….. and bowling woods have emerged from hibernation in under-stairs cupboards. (Or just plain “cupboards” for those who live in bungalows.)
It’s good to be back in action. We began our season with a keenly-fought Club competition, with pairings being drawn at random and fun being had by all. Keith Brownlee and Dawn Alsopp emerged as worthy winners of the first trophy of the campaign, and well done to them.

However it was last Thursday that the serious stuff really got underway as we took the field in our first Thursday League match at home to a tricky Youlgreave side. Parwich fired on all cylinders and took the match 138 to 102 to set a standard in the top half of the table. Congratulations to Andrew Grant for a successful home debut as he started with a fine win. Great thanks though must go to the Youlgreave Team for making it a thrilling contest and for being such a sporting crowd in The Sycamore afterwards.
I will take a few moments here to publicise the upcoming Open Day that we will be holding at the Club on Saturday May 20th. This is aimed at showing as many people as possible what an enjoyable sport Crown Green Bowling is and inviting everyone to have a go with good tuition and some sociable refreshment. Please come along and join us during the afternoon: if you don’t enjoy it then there’s no pressure to return, but if you don’t give it a go you’ll never know….
A further reminder that you can also follow the Parwich Team’s news and fortunes on Facebook/Parwich Crown Green Bowling Club.
This Thursday we travel to Matlock Park and on Tuesday evening 2nd May we will be at home, again to Youlgreave, to begin our Tuesday League season. As they say in today’s jargon – Bring it On!

Message from Derbyshire Dales District Council
Advance notice that there will be *no change* to bin collections on the week commencing Bank Holiday Monday 1st May.
The decision to not move collections during this week has been made so that residents are not disrupted when celebrating the King’s coronation on Saturday 6th May and can enjoy street parties etc. without needing to leave access for refuse vehicles.www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/

Plants are once again for sale outside Rookery House.
You will find divisions and seeds from our gardens, from the common to the slightly more unusual, yours for a fraction of the price you would pay in a garden centre, grown using peat free compost to protect our environment.
Sold in aid of Parwich and District Horticultural Society, enabling us in turn to support other village societies annually.
