Diary Updates Please

We will be updating the Parwich.org Diary page next weekend, so if you have any Alsop, Ballidon, Parwich or Pikehall events (December, January and February) that you want to go in the Diary in time to be included in the Peak Five Church Magazine’s December/January issue please send them in by Saturday (24th November). Please note this issue covers two months, so there will not be another one out until February 2019.

Including our Diary in the Church magazine is important as it helps you reach some of those who are not on-line. Also any January and February events would be particularly helpful.

Please send Diary information to parwich@hotmail.co.uk or leave me a message on tel. 287.

Thank you, Peter

Vicar at the Fireworks

The van will be in the village (as close to Parsons Croft as I can safely be) on the 5th from 6 – 7, then I’ll be a shadowy figure toasting one side at the bonfire!

‘All Age’ Sunday Service

Loving the blog, thanks for all the work, so user friendly and informative.

I see in 2007 there was lots of interest in Modern Slavery. On this Sunday 21st at 10am in church we welcome David Howe who has an up to date survey of Slavery in the East Midlands. There’s info about a new phone app to help identify Slavery in car washes. Real coffee as usual!
We’ve rebranded our third Sunday service as All Age, we have something for everyone.
Thanks for reading, see you soon.
Carollyn

On Sunday 21st October at 10.00am  we’re going to hear about some of the stories about the rescuing of modern day slaves, here in the Midlands, and about the Car Wash App!
Please could you remind people, and extend the invitation to their church to hear about real current issues.
Families welcome. Real Coffee to follow.
Many thanks
Carollyn

Thank you to all who bought plants last week, just over £50 went to the Carnival & Recreation Committee. This week proceeds will go to Parwich Church. There are still a range of herbaceous plants, shrubs, kitchen garden plants and others, including a large forsythia and a large dogwood which has bright red stems in winter.

If no one is about help yourself to the plants at the gate for Church Farm in Creamery Lane and leave what you think is a fair price in the honesty box. Everything must go.

News of Ballidon Church

Dear all

I’m delighted to say that the church at Ballidon has now been saved and repaired by a tiny charity called the Friends of Friendless Churches. We own nearly 50 churches which we have saved from demolition and decay, and there is now a page on our website about All Saints Ballidon:

http://friendsoffriendlesschurches.org.uk/ballidon/

Please do get in touch if you want to help at the church as a keyholder or to keep an eye on it for us – we are a very small charity relying on local people to help us look after these important buildings. And we need local contacts at Ballidon.

We also welcome new members – so if you are no longer local but want to support us, please consider joining us as a member!

Best wishes
Caroline Welch, Web Manager at Friends of Friendless Churches .

Dear Fitzherbert’s school, Parwich School and Everyone!
What a service we have prepared for you !
HOPE have produced an inspiring film that challenges us all about Global Goals, and what we each can do in our own communities and homes. It is introduced by Emma Watson (Hermione from the Harry Potter films).
We’ll be singing some ‘join in’ hymns to worship God, celebrating birthdays, hearing God’s word from the Bible about this topic, and have some space to pray too.
Coffee (real) , squash and biscuits for all afterwards.
A warm invitation and welcome to all, come and be with your Church family.
Thank you
Carollyn M
