Please note that this is a different film to the one that was originally advertised.

Return to the magic and wonder of C.S. Lewis’ beloved world The Chronicles of Narnia — via the fantastic Narnian ship, the Dawn Treader. Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, along with their cousin Eustace, their royal friend King Caspian and a warrior mouse named Reepicheep, find themselves swallowed into a painting and onto the Dawn Treader. Their mission — on which rests the fate of Narnia itself — takes the courageous voyagers to mysterious islands and a river that turns to gold, to fateful confrontations with magical creatures and sinister enemies and to a reunion with their friend and protector, the “Great Lion” Aslan.

Nottingham Trent University in partnership with the Peak Park are offering 60 free places for people to find out more about the Nine Ladies stone circle, on Stanton Moor, both on the ground and in the night sky.

Three two-hour sessions will take place on Sunday December 4, at 12noon, 2pm, and 4pm, starting at the Village Hall in Stanton in Peak, near Bakewell.

The events will include a short talk on the history of the stone circle, what to look out for in the night sky in December, a planetarium session and a 15-minute walk to the stone circle. The 4pm session will include a look at the night sky through telescopes (weather permitting).

This guy looked as bit lost as he was seen staggering down Creamery Lane about 30 minutes ago.

If you see him,  do help him, as he’s going to be the star tonight.  Give your vote and support  to “Guy in Lights”, better than X Factor & Strictly, from 7.30pm, Live on Alsop Road. It’s Bonfire Night!

Well done Wyatt & the Marshalls.

It’s The Monster Mosh

It is with some relief to us all that The A52s are now unable to play at The Legion this evening – Saturday 29th October at 8.30pm. Apparently they are all too scared of Hallowe’en.

However we have some good news! In their place, The Legion have secured at last minute the services of Dexy’s Chainsaw Massacre – another local band sounding remarkably like The A52s. They are much more scary than our familiar bunch of lads but still drink as much beer.

The band hope to see you there this Saturday evening. Be there and be scared!
