Pooh!

New Year Resolution for All Dog Owners – pick up your poo!
For the third time in the past week I have picked up and binned other dogs’ faeces on the large cricket pitch when depositing my own dogs’ waste.  I do this on behalf of all other good dog owners who would hate to see another place that dogs are banned from entering just because some people can’t be bothered. Maybe a bin can be placed on the field to make it more enticing to do the right thing?
Dogs are meant to be man’s best friend, but they are regulated more than any other pet in the country! We’ve already been told we can’t use the smaller playing field because it’s for children only, (despite seeing around seven kids play on there in two years.) I’d love it if dogs had a designated play area so we can all be responsible for looking after said area. Instead, I fear, I’ll see a notice on this blog to say dogs are no longer allowed on the cricket pitch either simply because of a handful of people. We are not perfect dog owners ourselves, our dogs are not perfect, but one thing we do do is make sure we pick up their do do’s!
So please, learn to steel your stomachs for this unpleasant task and think of the greater good.
Woof!

Meet More New Neighbours

viv__jon_micklefield

Viv and Jon Micklefield have recently moved into Gardeners Cottage (previously home to Sue and Alan Purvis). After taking the plunge to relocate from Surrey, they’d set their hearts on living in the Peak Park and can’t believe their luck to have discovered Parwich. Viv is a freelance feature writer and is already starting to explore the local area on foot, whilst Jon who works for the automobile industry will take to pedal power at any opportunity, up hill and down dale. They are both looking forward to becoming part of village life.

The Parwich Oddfellows Committee would like to thank all that supported, helped, hosted and took part in making the event on Saturday evening such a great success, also we hope that you all enjoyed coming along and joining in, even though there was a few disappointed children when their pets didn’t quite make it to last three, the judges did say how difficult it was to pick a winner, everyone thought they were all brilliant, so thank you and well done for showing them.
Thank you also to the Parwich Royal British Legion team for your time, support and hard work, it is very much appreciated.
Everyone may not be aware, but we have a strong membership and our friendly society is growing in strength within the Parwich Oddfellows, we also have a good number of junior members and we would like to see more join and have fun, this also secures the future of the Parwich Oddfellows, which as now been established for just over 180 years and continues to helps others and brings people together.
We did raise funds from the event, so again thank you to all, the Lodge committee will ensure from this that we continue to support the young members, friends and family’s and hopefully have more fun.

I work with a small Charity and we want to purchase a portable PA system to use at our events, but need some advice about what would be suitable and thought maybe there is someone who could give me that advice. A system with a wireless microphone would be ideal and one which can be used inside and out. Also the cost needs to be reasonable.

If you can offer any advice I would be very grateful.

Thanks, Margaret R
