Gardens Trip

On Wednesday 10 July Parwich Horticultural Society has organised a visit to two beautiful Northamptonshire gardens. Coton Manor in the morning, and Kelmarsh Hall in the afternoon. Both of these gardens should be at their ‘blooming’ best at this time of year.Coffee/ tea on arrival at Coton Manor is included. Lunch can be purchased at the Cafe in either garden or if you prefer to take your own picnic, there are facilities for this at both gardens. Full details are on the poster below. Please let Glynis know by 1st July if you would like to reserve a place.

Any Spare Plants?

Do you have any spare plants that can be sold at Open Gardens on Sunday 23rd June? If so, please bring them to the Memorial Hall on the morning of Open Gardens, or contact Lesley on 390542. The Horticultural Society use any money raised on the day to subsidise the Main Flower & Vegetable Show and to help support local groups and causes.

Suttons Seeds

A big thank you to Mike R for creating a second opportunity to order discounted seeds from the Suttons catalogue:

With the snow keeping me in doors these last two weeks, my mind has been giving attention to planning the garden for this year. As a paid up member of the Horticultural Society I have been wondering why my Suttons Seed catalogue has not arrived. A visit to my neighbour across the road reveals that the catalogues were given out at the AGM in the Autumn and there are no catalogues left. Further the P&DHS order has already been placed with Suttons and it is too late to include any order from me through the P&DHS!

The good news is that after talking to the organisers at Suttons this morning, they have confirmed to me they are willing to receive an order direct from me on the same terms as the P&DHS and a catalogue is being sent to me by return.

So, if there are any other Parwich gardeners in the same situation as me, puzzling why they have not been given a Suttons Seed catalogue this year, I would be more than willing to help out if they want to contact me and tell me their requirements.

Mike R. tel 390433

NB If you don’t have a catalogue, you can see what is available on-line at the Suttons website, but to get the discount don’t order on-line, rather speak to Mike. Existing orders are not effected by this.
