Holiday Accommodation Request

Having looked at the holiday lets listed on the blog, please can I post the following:

Does anyone know of any ‘baby and toddler’ friendly holiday accommodation ie with a double bedroom and another with room for two cots somewhere and a reasonably large bathroom. Parking close by would be good too.

Thanks
C Gordon, Alsop.

Family Dancersise

image

The District Council have issued the following press release about the up coming season of Dancersise sessions in the Memorial Hall:

Family Dancercise comes to Parwich

Tucked away to the north of Ashbourne, until recently Parwich was one of the Derbyshire Dales’ best kept secrets. That is until earlier this year when it was named by the Sunday Times as ‘one of the best places to live in Britain’.

So what better place for Derbyshire Dales District Council to launch its Family Dancercise classes. The monthly Dancercise sessions take place at Parwich Memorial Hall and feature a different dancing style each month. The classes are aimed at families and all ages and abilities are welcome to attend.

Another great Wakes week is over. A very big thank you to The Carnival & Recreation Committee, the OddFellows, the Legion, the Sycamore Inn, the Church, the Memorial Hall and everyone who put so much hard work into making things run so smoothly. It is also the busiest time of year for us here at parwich.org, and indeed Thursday was our busiest day ever. As so many photographs are published here on the Blog here is a list of all this year’s Wakes posts to help you find what has been posted:

Parwich School in the News

Parwich Primary School are in the Ashbourne News Telegraph this week (click here to see the photograph on the paper’s website). They have raised £1,000 for the Isobella Peatfield Trust, which is

the total cost for the build and upkeep of a brand new playground to be built in a school, nursery or orphanage in one of the poorest areas of Sri Lanka for children affected by the 2004 Tsunami. The playground will be named after ‘Parwich Primary School’ and we are hoping, with Mrs. Peatfield’s help, to make lasting links with the school, nursery or orphanage where our playground will be built.

What an excellent achievement. Click here to see more photographs on the School website and for more details.

You can find more out about this excellent cause at the charity’s website and their Facebook page.
