So many people said it was one of the best evenings they have ever had – wonderful voices with such a wide repertoire to be enjoyed by all and good fun. A real professional

DDDC Forum comes to Parwich

Dales’ residents invited to participate in District Council’s autumn forums

Local residents are being urged to take part in the next round of Area Community Forums to be staged across the Derbyshire Dales this autumn

Hot topics up for discussion include a ‘You Said – We Did’ feedback session, a Good News briefing from Chief Executive Dorcas Bunton, an ‘Efficiencies’ workshop session, an update on recycling issues and a popular Questions & Answers session.

Council Leader Councillor Lewis Rose OBE said: “These forums continue to be important to us in reaching out to local people and listening to what they have to say.

It’s a great opportunity for local people to get involved and we would urge anyone who hasn’t attended a forum before to come along.”

Residents can pick up some handy tips on how to recycle more and there’ll be an update on future waste and recycling issues.  There’ll also be an opportunity to take part in The Budget Game where participants will be asked how they would spend the Council’s money and whether they have any suggestions for savings.

The Forums will take place at Wirksworth Memorial Hall on Tuesday 18th October, Parwich Village Hall on Tuesday 25th October and Eyam Church Centre on Tuesday 1st November.

All start at 7 pm and anyone who can’t attend in person can email questions in advance to communityforum@derbyshiredales.gov.uk or via the District Council’s Facebook and Twitter pages @derbyshiredales.  The 1st November forum will also feature a live Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/derbyshiredales

A Question Time session will enable audience members to ask questions and make comments and suggestions to the various representatives.

For further details or to be added to our mailing list ring 01629 761302 or email communityforum@derbyshiredales.gov.uk

Parwich will be making an appearance on the BBC One  Inside Out programme at 7.30pm on Monday 3 October. The programme is about affordable housing and should feature some shots of Smith Close and Parsons Croft and maybe other parts of the village. Although the filmmakers were in the village for an entire afternoon earlier in the year, Parwich was only one of the places they were filming for the programme – so don’t blink as you may miss it!
