Update – the food will be hot pork cobs – 5-hour slow roast pork, apple sauce, stuffing and crackling – there will be a few cheese cobs for anyone how doesn’t eat pork.

We have received the following message from the Legion….

Starting this Saturday!
We have overcome the decision to again screen England matches on Sky by buying a Sky Pass so do come and get the best of this!

We have received the following

Due to popular demand, we’re running a second British Legion bike ride, with a variation to the route we did last time. It’ll be 9 miles with a mixture of roads and trails, leaving at finishing at The Legion.

The start time is 2pm, but remember that clocks go back Saturday night/ Sunday morning! The route is attached but as before, we’ll leave in convoy and when we get back, they’ll be hot food available.

It’s due to be a bit chilly on Sunday, so wrap up warm and we’ll see you there!

Details of the route and the a map follow – please click on either to enlarge.

We have received the following message from the Legion….

Thank you to all those brave souls who took on the challenge of the Roystone Grange climb on Monday. It was a great turn out and the sun sort of came out too so it made the 10 mile ride a very pleasant afternoon. Thank goodness there was a really tasty barbecue and great beer to celebrate the achievement.
If you’re sad you missed it, not to worry as, by popular request, we’re sure to repeat the challenge again soon.

The weather looks like it’s going to be perfect for cycling and the great news is, the route finishes with a long decent back into Parwich, so they’ll be no gasping for breath when you reach the bar for a well earned drink.

The route map and guide notes are provided below (click to enlarge) and markers will be set out to show you they way, so come along to join us for a 3pm depart.

If you have any questions please call Jon on 390075.

100 Mile Ride

Hello, as I’m sure you know I’m quite a cycling addict, yes, a proper MAMIL (Middle Aged Man in Lycra). One of the biggest events for cyclists in this country is the Prudential Ride London 100, which is, yes you guessed it, a 100 mile ride around London and Surrey; well I’ve entered this event, the cyclists version of doing a marathon……

Now the ask – recently a very dear friend of mine has passed away due to Motor Neurone Disease.   I want to do something; so I’m doing the above ride on behalf of the MND Association.  I hope to raise loads of funds to help with their work in helping patients, and research into finding a cure for this horrid disease.
So a big please – please be generous, help me to help this worthy cause.

Finally, I am standing all my costs, and have started the ball rolling with £100 donation myself.  If you would like to make a donation, my daughter and I have set up a Just Giving page.   https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/robertandcatherine
Big love to you all, thanks for reading this.
