YNOT 2015

It’s that time of year again, (no I’m not talking about Christmas), its time to put on your wellies and shake the cobwebs off your tent, its almost time for YNOT Festival 2015.

The fields around Pikehall near Parwich will be transformed into a mix of live music and entertainment with plenty of hot and cold food. There are camping facilities, toilets and showers available in the fields beside the festival. This year there are 3 promising headliners, including the indie-rock band Primal Scream, Basement Jaxx and the very well known and popular Snoop Dogg. The line up for this years YNOT Festival also includes Saint Raymond, Nick Mulvey, Rae Morris, Pulled Apart By Horses, Slaves, We Are The Ocean, The Amazing Snakeheads, Honey Blood, Gengahr, Jagaara, Ruen Brothers, Fearless, Vampire Killer, Allusondrugs, The Academic and King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys.

The tickets for YNOT 2015 are currently on sale but tier 1, costing £84.50 have already sold out due to the increasing popularity of YNOT. Tier 2 is at £89.50 and tickets for tier 3 cost £94.50.

Dance Instructor Wanted

The enormously successful Dance Classes in the Memorial Hall, set up by Derbyshire Village Games, are on hold while a new instructor is sought. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please pass this information on:

A successful street dance project in Parwich in the Derbyshire Dales, launched by Derbyshire Village Games, is on the lookout for a new instructor to lead sessions.

The group has proved hugely popular with both young and old, after residents pleaded for more sport and activity in the village last year. The weekly family dance classes encourage parents and carers to get up and have a boogie with their children and relatives and attract nearly 20 participants.

Parwich resident, Katy W got in touch with Derbyshire Dales Village Games Coordinator, Katy Stubbs to ask for her help in organising fun, local dance sessions for the community. (more…)

Dance Classes on hold

Bad news unfortunately on both the upcoming Dance classes:

Dear all

Sadly I have just been informed that the dance classes we had previously advertised will not be going ahead as planned due to unforeseen circumstances.

I have contacted Community Sports to ask if there can be a replacement but probably won’t hear anything back until late next week.

I’ll keep you informed.

Thanks Katy

Santa Spotting

It’s looking promising for clear(ish) skies on Christmas Eve for a bit of Santa spotting but if not, there’s a very good chance of seeing him going back home at 4.31pm on Christmas Day in the south west.

Cheryl

Also the good folk of the White Peak might catch a glimpse of him today as he pays Parwich British Legion a flying visit between 1 and 2.30pm.
