Legion Bike Ride 2, this Sunday.

We have received the following

Due to popular demand, we’re running a second British Legion bike ride, with a variation to the route we did last time. It’ll be 9 miles with a mixture of roads and trails, leaving at finishing at The Legion.

The start time is 2pm, but remember that clocks go back Saturday night/ Sunday morning! The route is attached but as before, we’ll leave in convoy and when we get back, they’ll be hot food available.

It’s due to be a bit chilly on Sunday, so wrap up warm and we’ll see you there!

Details of the route and the a map follow – please click on either to enlarge.

Diary Updates

A bit belatedly this month, we will be updating the Parwich.org Diary page this weekend, so if you have any Alsop, Ballidon, Parwich or Pikehall events (November and December) that you want to go in the Diary in time to be included in the Peak Five Church Magazine’s November issue please send them in by Saturday (27th of October).

Including our Diary in the Church magazine is important as it helps you reach some of those who are not on-line.

Please send Diary information to parwich@hotmail.co.uk or leave me a message on tel. 287.

Thank you, Peter

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Oil prices fell to a one-month low on Wednesday, pushed down by a bearish report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration that showed a large increase in crude inventories. Looks like the U.S. are filling up for the winter too!

Despite this it will come as no surprise that the rate we have pay for our oil has not come down!

Please order early and allow plenty of time for delivery. If you are low on oil then this order may not be suitable. Typical estimated delivery time frames are between 7 to 10 days working days.

You can help reduce harmful diesel emissions, CO2, danger and damage on our roads and to our villages by joining in with our group orders. In doing so we can reduce the number of heavy goods trucks driving through our towns and villages. We have secured a rate and our clubs group oil order terms for this weekend are as follows:

Rate:  £0.5350 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

‘All Age’ Sunday Service

Loving the blog, thanks for all the work, so user friendly and informative.

I see in 2007 there was lots of interest in Modern Slavery. On this Sunday 21st at 10am in church we welcome David Howe who has an up to date survey of Slavery in the East Midlands. There’s info about a new phone app to help identify Slavery in car washes. Real coffee as usual!
We’ve rebranded our third Sunday service as All Age, we have something for everyone.
Thanks for reading, see you soon.

Autumn Village Tidy Up

A belated big thank you (oops sorry, my fault) to all those who helped with the recent village tidy up. Great work was done around the greens and along the brook.
