Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club
Kerosene prices continue to rise with crude at a 4 year high, passing $83 a barrel this afternoon and the pound continues to struggle against the dollar. Suppliers are also very busy for this time of year as the weather turns cooler. Therefore please order early and allow plenty of time for delivery. If you are low on oil then this order may not be suitable. Typical estimated delivery time frames are between 7 to 10 days working days.
You can help reduce harmful diesel emissions, CO2, danger and damage on our roads and to our villages by joining in with our group orders. In doing so we can reduce the number of heavy goods trucks driving through our towns and villages. We have secured a rate and our clubs group oil order terms for this weekend are as follows:
Rate: £0.5200 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

A ‘Thank–you’ letter was received from the WW2 Child evacuee Joe (Joshua) Potter and his wife Linda, in which he would like to extend his gratitude to Catering 4 Parwich, the Local History Society and all those people who made their stay in Parwich so memorable. Mr & Mrs Potter very much enjoyed visiting the village and meeting his octogenarian peers at the Afternoon Tea party after so many years.
In fact, Mr & Mrs Potter enjoyed their stay so much that they have indicated that they would like to come and stay in Parwich again in 2019. We will keep you informed.

Anyone out there finding a surplus of apples on the floor, during these windy days, and fancy turning it into juice or something else…give us a buzz and I’ll happily bring round a pretty useful press and help you to juice them.

Hi I have 6 chickens 3 of which are 20 week old POL. 1 of my new girls keeps going walkies. I believe she is getting through the hedge and out that way and ending up on the path opposite the school. I have collected her a few times from other people’s gardens. I have knocked on but no one is in so have just been grabbing her and bringing her home. She’s very tame and will let you pick her up. She has currently gone walkies and I can’t find her. Please if you see her either bring her back if you want to i live on Lenscliffe or give me a text/call my number is 07950823369 and I will fetch her.

Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club
Crude continues to hover between $78 and $80 a barrel but as Brexit negations appear to hit an impasse, the pound has fallen sharply against the dollar today, pushing up the cost of kerosene further. It looks like we could be in for a bumpy ride over the next few months.
With the weather turning cooler, suppliers are busy. Therefore please order early and allow plenty of time for delivery. If you are low then this order may not be suitable. Typical estimated delivery time frames are between 7 to 10 days working days.

A big thank you to those who braved the awful weather this evening to learn how to use the static defibrillator. I think everyone agreed that John’s training was clear and reassuring, with the emphasis on just doing something, even if it might not be textbook correct. We even raised £32 for the Air Ambulance in the process.

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.
Flood Alert in force: Upper Dove.
Flooding is possible for: Low-lying land and roads between Izaak Walton and Rocester on the River Dove and between Carsington Dam and Mayfield on the Henmore Brook.
Be prepared.
Heavy rain is forecast in the River Dove catchment overnight (Thursday the twentieth of September). This may result in river levels rising further in this area and there may be flooding to low lying land and roads. We expect the rain to continue throughout tomorrow (Friday the twenty-first of September) and for river levels to remain raised, however no flooding of properties is expected and Environment Agency staff are monitoring the situation. Take care near areas of concern and monitor your local weather conditions and the GOV.UK website. We are currently monitoring the situation.
To check the latest information for your area
——————————————————-
* Visit the GOV.UK website to see the current flood warnings, view river and sea levels or check the 5-day flood risk forecast: https://flood-warning-information.service.gov.uk/target-area/033WAF315
* Or call Floodline on 0345 988 1188 using quickdial code: 208015.
* Follow @EnvAgency and #floodaware on Twitter.
* Tune into weather, news and travel bulletins on local television and radio.
Sandbags and sand are available at the Sycamore if required

Just a quick reminder about the training session at the Memorial Hall. It is open to everybody and we hope that lots of people will pop along for the session. It should last about an hour and a half, finishing with free refreshments.
So whether you feel that your life saving skills are rusty or if you think that you would have no idea what to do in the case of a heart attack please come and hear John Whittaker from East Midlands Ambulance Service guide us all through what you should do.
We have decided to hold a raffle in aid of the Air Ambulance during the evening. Parwich First Responders look forward to seeing you on Thursday at 7.30. Sue H

We will be updating the Parwich.org Diary page next weekend, so if you have any Alsop, Ballidon, Parwich or Pikehall events (October and November) that you want to go in the Diary in time to be included in the Peak Five Church Magazine’s October issue please send them in by Saturday (22nd of September).
Including our Diary in the Church magazine is important as it helps you reach some of those who are not on-line.
Please send Diary information to parwich@hotmail.co.uk or leave me a message on tel. 287.
