Tom’s White Christmas

Many thanks to Stuart for this update:

We went to the opening night 19th November and stayed overnight at the Seaton Lane Inn, Seaham, County Durham SR7 0LP tel 0191 581 2038, a delightful Inn with excellent accommodation and most comfortable beds, this is owned by the brother of Joanne Jewitt, Adrian Marshall. It was only 7 miles from the Empire Theatre and the Taxi was just £10.40. A great atmosphere and great food. The journey by car was 3 hours, I had thought of running a coach but it would be probably 4 hours and therefore reconsidered that cars would be better.

White Christmas

If there is sufficient interest Stuart will organise a coach trip to see Tom in White Christmas at the Sunderland Empire:

Hi, one or two people have asked if I am arranging a Coach which Warringtons have confirmed they will do.
Rosemary and I are going up to the opening night with some of our family from Kenya to ‘ check it out’.  We are then staying the night at the Seaton Lane Inn Seaham County Durham some 7 miles from the Theatre.

If any one would like to consider a later group trip, firstly it is about three and a half hours in a Coach, so we would go to a Matinee at 14.30 pm. We could go in the Coach and stop for lunch at the Seaton Lane Inn just 7 miles short of the Theatre then after the Show return. So it will be a long day.

So if persons could let me know at my Office 01629 582297 or home 336 . Matinees are on a Wednesday and a Saturday. I thought perhaps going in the first two weeks of December if there was interest, around 10 persons have asked me at the moment.

Stuart

Sorry we were too late to give advance warning, but Tom was on the Alan Titmarsh Show Thursday 4th November 5-6pm ITV1.  You can catch up on ITV Player

UK TV premiere for Fakers.

Back in 2004, an unknown young actor called Tom Chambers made his movie debut in Fakers, a comedy crime caper set in London’s fine art world.

Six years on, Fakers receives its first UK TV screening on Bank Holiday Monday (May 3rd), at 23:50 on BBC1.

It’s a fun movie with a few celebrity cameos (Rula Lenska, Art Malik, Larry Lamb) along the way, and well worth catching.

A message from Stuart (and Tom).

PARWICH.ORG has just received this message from Tom’s dad Stuart:

Hi and we are still in London enjoying lots of emotion. We go to the Xmas recording tonite too. No telephone voting required.

The first place the Strictly Come Dancing trophy is coming, says Tom, is to The Sycamore.

Tom says thank you for your support and all the best for Xmas and New Year. He cannot get up until mid January, due to more Strictly tour rehearsals.

My favourite film is It’s a Wonderful Life, James Stewart. It sure is at the moment, thanks to the public. Tom is very humbled.

Big episode on Holby City too on Tuesday night. More Kleenex. Thanks Parwich.

Parwich in the press.

We’re not quite sure how this happened – but a nice article appeared in today’s “Fenland Citizen” on the subject of last night’s Strictly Come Dancing shenanigans at the Sycamore, featuring lengthy quotes from Janet. Click here to read the article in full.

Meanwhile, Friday’s Derby Evening Telegraph included a article on the various changes planned for the Bennetts group of department stores, with extensive quotes throughout from incoming managing director – and Parwich resident – Simon Ingham. Click here to read the article in full.

Update: Thanks to Christopher Harrison for pointing us in the direction of this Press Association article on Parwich’s reaction to Tom’s win.

“We are all totally on cloud nine. It’s unbelievable. We are so happy for Camilla.” – Tom’s dad Stuart.

“Everyone was really happy for him when he won. It’s a close-knit community and everyone knows him.” – Janet, landlady of the Sycamore.

“People know him here as Tom and it’s strange to think of him as a celebrity because he’s so normal when he comes back to the village.” – Reverend Christopher Harrison.

“I’d just like to thank family and friends, everyone at the pub in Parwich…”

OK, so PARWICH.ORG is a little drunk right now. But quite understandably so, as it’s not every day that a Parwich lad wins – yes, WINS! – BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Down at the Sycamore, we were in absolute uproar over tonight’s well deserved result – especially following Tom and Camilla’s truly stunning final freestyle show dance, which had to rank as one of the absolute highlights of the whole season.

Congratulations to both of them, and of course to Tom’s wife Clare – and also to Stuart and Rosemary, who must be two of the proudest parents in the country right now.

All this and a £500,000 Lottery award too? It’s been quite a week!
