10.50am update. They have pretty much cleared the scene now with just the car there and a police vehicle with two police officers keeping the traffice safe and flowing at the T junction. Caroline G

Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club
Brent Crude continues to rise, reaching $68 a barrel today, on news that Iran, Russia, and China will begin on Saturday joint navy drills in the northern Indian Ocean including the critical oil chokepoint, the Strait of Hormuz.
Beat the January rush.
Estimated delivery times are up to 10 working days. Please allow extra time for the Bank holiday. If you are low on oil, this order will not be suitable. Delivery times are estimated and subject to supply and weather conditions so please order early.
TIP: Please check the condition of your tank. Many suppliers require their drivers to inspect the tank for cracks and sags, and may not deliver if the driver finds a problem or is not able to carry out a full inspection. There is a pot hole on the road travelling out of the village heading for Ashbourne, its on the road just past Mrs Dales house, its definitely a wheel or Tyre damage result for someone travelling.It was full of water this morning, so its not that obvious.

Just one more week to go!! …. Until the most fun you will ever have on a football pitch…..!!
This year will be our 4th Christmas Day football in Parwich (Nethergreen field, not the Cricket Pitch).
This event is always well attended, we like to see young and old, good ability and no ability, everyone is welcome, the more the merrier. Drag your kids along.
Afterwards some of us head to the legion for a pint or two
I expect this year will be one of the best ever and it will definitely be very muddy!!
Note: This is not an official event,… its just a bunch crazy locals having great fun before our Christmas lunch.. There is no Insurance, or first aid provided and everyone plays at their own risk. That said, we have never had any major injuries and we hope to see you there!!

The Parwich Carnival and Recreation Committee would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. We had a lovely evening on Monday singing Christmas Carols (mostly in tune?!) with Ashbourne Town Band, a perfect end to our years events – we were even joined by our very own Christmas donkey! (thanks Jess and Ben). We would also like to thank Rob for the delicious mince pies, Tarmac for our lovely village Christmas tree and Barbara and Alan for the electric. Finally we would like to thank everyone who has supported our events and everyone who has helped out throughout the year we couldn’t do it without you. Here’s to a happy, healthy and fun 2020!

TIP: Upgrade to Premium fuel – Make your fuel go further and upgrade to premium fuel with the market leading Exocet premium additive. Exocet additives lower carbon emissions, stabilise fuel, inhibit sludge formation in the tank, and improve overall fuel performance. Additives can be purchased from The Club Store. If you have an AGA or Rayburn then please ensure you order the Cooker additive.

Is there anyone in the village that can repair jewellery?I bought my Mum a handmade necklace that has broken. She has recovered some of the pieces but a lit of smaller beads are missing. It’s the sort of thing that someone who makes their own jewellery could attempt too fix I’m sure.

Despite incessant rain, work is progressing on Pump Hill. Many thanks to all who have spared time for weed pulling and path clearing. The best news is the work at the squeeze on the southeast corner. Jon M and Charles B have done a masterful job of creating stone cheeks to hold back the height of the land just inside the entry point.Next step is to grade the slope a bit more and plant it up. Thank you to everyone who has so willingly pitched in. The Friends of Pump Hill.

My oil delivery due on or before 4th December was from Potteries Fuels via the Oil Club. It still hasn’t arrived. The staff at the Oil Club have been trying to contact Potteries Fuels on my behalf without success however they have finally told the Oil Club that they will be delivering tomorrow 10th December. To avoid Potteries Fuels (or another poor service provider) in the future, you can email the Oil Club prior to placing an order to find out who the supplier will be – and then avoid at all costs!
