Does anyone have any spare courgette or indoor cucumber plants that I could buy off them? If so please let me know on 203, or call round to the house, or email me on emma.parwich@outlook.com.
Many thanks

Thank to to Rona C who has told us that there has been a major accident on the A52 this side of Brailsford and the road will be closed until around 10.00. There are traffic jams in Ashbourne, possibly as a consequence.

This is a not very good photo of what I think must be an egret which flew from the brook when I startled it. Has anyone else seen it?

Parwich Community First Responders need your help! Many of you will know we have a volunteer team of Community First Responders and we help people in emergencies by getting to them in advance of the professional ambulance crews, which can save lives. To keep us on top of our game, regular training sessions are important, as the ability to practice CPR is crucial.
We’re trying to raise funds from a scheme run by Calor Gas Ltd, which is based on the number of votes received, to buy a new training mannequin and are competing with other worthy causes to get our share of what’s available.
So, we need to have the most votes to get to the funds. NOTE – voting closes this Monday, 17th June.
If you’d like to support our appeal, please can you click through on the link below and add your 10 votes that you’ll be allocated – it’d be a great help and hugely appreciated by the Parwich First Responder team. The deadline is Monday 17th June, so please don’t delay.

If you’d like to know more about what the Parwich First Responders do, or have any questions about the life-saving defribulator located at The Sycamore pub, e.g. how to access it, then please call Martin on 390529, who’d be happy to explain it to you.

I used to keep bees when I lived in NE Norfolk some years ago and greatly enjoyed the hobby. I’m keen to do so again up here in Alsop, but I’m concerned that nectar and pollen from our local trees and flora might not be sufficient to sustain a colony year round. Is our area a relative desert for honeybees?I should say that I’m not so much interested in getting loads of honey; just giving the bees a place to thrive and for me to study them.
Grateful for any advice.Anthony CAlsop en le Dale

The Parish Council has received a number of comments about potholes in and around the village. The Parish Council has no powers to deal with these are they are the responsibility of the Highways Authority, Derbyshire County Council. They do respond to problems logged on their website which can be reached here.
If you wish to log an issue and are unable to this site the Parish Clerk can assist you.

Thank you to everyone who braved the early rain and joined us on the Legion’s family bike ride. When the rain dried up, it was perfect riding conditions and we were rewarded at the end with a spectacular double rainbow over Minninglow.
The next ride is scheduled for Sunday 21st July, so get the date in your diary and join us.
