Local Projects Fund

Worthy causes in the Derbyshire Dales are being invited to apply to Derbyshire Dales District Council for funds from its Local Projects Fund.

The Fund enables Derbyshire Dales District Councillors to support community led initiatives in the area they represent.  Each year £900 is allocated to each Councillor to allocate to projects or initiatives in their Ward that will benefit the local communities and be valuable to the area.

Applications can be made by local groups that are based within the Derbyshire Dales that can demonstrate community benefit. For example:

  • Parish and town councils (for specific projects only)
  • Young people’s groups
  • Locally based charities
  • Benevolent societies

The District Council welcomes applications from organisations who meet the criteria and it’s now easier than ever to apply online at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/localprojectsfund where further information is availble

Oil Price Down

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Oil prices continued to slide on Friday morning, ending the month of May with the largest monthly drop since last November, as trade tensions weigh on investors outlook on the global economy and oil demand.

TIP: Over time water builds up at the bottom of the tank through condensation. To prevent this causing issues, we recommend using a water scavenger which will absorb contaminated water in the tank. Its simple to use, just fix the cord to the tank and drop in the scavenger. For more information please visit the club shop.

Rate:  £0.4690 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

Bee Help Urgently Required

We have come to use our machinery for mowing the fields and there is a large bees’ nest on one of the mowers. Is anyone local who could help us to move these? We don’t want them getting hurt but need them moving ASAP so we can mow the fields!
Many thanks,
Sue Edge

Parwich Wakes Hill Race

Local ladies race is 7pm then the following….

There will be a memorial service at Parwich church at 9.30 am on Sunday 2nd June 2019 where it is hoped all those people who knew Christine will attend to celebrate her life.

Initially at 09.30am the Ashes of Christine will be buried and also the blessing of a seat that is to be installed in her memory followed by a short Service in Church.

Thereafter we shall all adjourn to the Parwich British Legion where there will be refreshments.

Christine had died of her cancer on the 22/9/18 and we had enjoyed previously in October a cremation service at Arnold in Nottingham conducted by the Revd Christopher Harrison formerly our Parwich Vicar .
Colin hopes that many persons will attend, if not at the church, at the British Legion thereafter in memory of Christine whose presence so many of us enjoyed over the 30 years se was in Parwich.
