Leatherbritches Nursery

Bill will finally throw in the trowel at Leatherbritches garden nursery next week, on Thursday 31st October…..

There are still some bits and bobs left – such as plants, pots, containers etc. and you won’t get a better deal anywhere else!

Ann and Bill would like to say a huge thanks to all their customers and everyone that has dealt with them over the last 20 years…..

Likewise, I am sure many of you would join me in saying a big thank you to Ann and Bill for providing such a lovely, local and friendly source of plants, pots, advice, ideas, Christmas trees as well as tea, coffee and biscuits….! My garden for one would not be the same without you both…..

Congratulations to Esther!!!!

Many congratulations to Esther who got the top award for her raven studies (screenprints) at London’s, ‘The Natural Eye’ art exhibition.

The Natural Eye is the annual exhibition of the Society of Wildlife Artists and showcases the very best of fine art inspired by the natural world. It is renowned for displaying a wide ranging collection of exciting and thought provoking work including sculpture, printmaking, painting and drawing. See below for some images of Ether’s work.

Sunday Football Update

As you know for personal reasons, we have moved the football from Friday evening to Sunday morning. Sadly, this change hasn’t been a huge success, with some weeks only 1 or 2 children turning up.

James and I still wish to continue football so are looking to try out some alternatives.

We will now going to have Sunday football every two weeks starting this week, and a later time of 9.30am to 10.30am.

Fingers crossed this works. The following are the proposed dates:

27 October 2019

10 November 2019

24 November 2019

08 December 2019

22 December 2019

25 December 2019 (Village Christmas Day football for everyone)

05 January 2020

Many thanks

Jason & James

Please could you post this for me please. I have Two tickets for The Meatloaf Story tonight. Unfortunately no longer able to attend. Great seats. £60 for both.
Thanks

Oil Price Drops

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Although worries of a global trade downturn persist, the problems in the Middle East are simmering away, keeping Brent crude oil prices at around $59 a barrel this week.

As the weather turns colder, please order early and allow plenty of time for delivery. Estimated delivery times are now 7 to 10 working days.

TIP: It is a good idea to upgrade your fuel to premium fuel with an Exocet additive. Exocet additives lower carbon emissions, stabilise fuel, cleans injectors, inhibit sludge formation in the tank and improves overall fuel performance. Additives can be purchased from The Oil-Club Shop. If you have an AGA or range cooker, then please ensure you order the Cooker additive.

Rate:  £0.4550 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

Rocketman Warning

Hello! I just want to mention that Rocketman is an amazing film and I love it, but it definitely is a 15 and over.

I’d watch it again and again for the singing and acting, but there are many sex scenes including gay, drug taking, swearing, overdosing, etc. It’s not sanitised like the Freddie Mercury film. As Elton told the film makers… he’s not lived a PG13 life!

Hope it’s ok to mention. Don’t not show it, because wow! But I’d recommend a disclaimer as kids sometimes come with their parents.

Oil Price Up

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Oil Prices jumped yesterday passing $60 after reports an Iranian tanker, Sabiti, was hit by missiles in the Red Sea early on Friday morning.

As the weather turns colder please order early and allow plenty of time for delivery as suppliers are now busy.

If you have an AGA, then please ensure you order the cooker additive.

Some suppliers will charge extra if they can’t deliver the amount ordered, as they have to cover the costs involved with transporting this fuel back to the depot.

Rate:  £0.4800 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])
