Following a request from the carnival committee, the Parwich Oddfellow committee members have decided to parade the Oddfellow banner on Wakes Saturday, through the village, following behind the band music at 3pm. They will follow the normal Oddfellows walk route.
It would be appreciated if you could support them from the safety of your garden as they pass through the village.

Update – the steamer chair has been rehoused
For sale.
I have a hardwood steamer chair complete with cushion, I have had it quite a long time but has always been stored under cover so is in good condition .
£20 to the memorial hall if you would like it.
It is quite heavy, which is why I want to part with it and get something lighter.

If you would like a buttonhole for our ‘Lockdown Wakes Saturday’ this coming Saturday, 27 June, please order by 8pm Thursday. I’ll try to get red roses but please be flexible if they are a different colour this year. The buttonholes will be £3.50 and will be available for collection from outside the Sycamore Inn between 10-11am on Saturday.

Oil prices rise to a three month high on news that OPEC+ agree to extend production cuts. Delivery times are currently 5 to 10 working days.
NOTE Due to Covid-19 some suppliers are no longer leaving delivery dockets (PODs) at the time of delivery, they will be sending them via post after delivery instead. Due to current delays with the postal service in some areas, please allow a week or so for them to arrive.

All of the District Council’s political groups have signed up to a joint statement calling on central government to ensure that the needs of local communities are fully considered as coronavirus lockdown eases.
The statement – issued by the leaders of the Conservative, Green, Labour and Liberal Democrat groups – calls on Secretary of State Robert Jenrick to review all strategies and regulations “to make sure that our communities are protected from uncontrolled excess visitor numbers that could contribute to a second wave of the virus”.

The next meeting of Parwich Parish Council will be held on Wednesday the 17th June 2020 at 7:30 pm.
The meeting will be preceded at 7:00 by a presentation on Planning. (PROVISIONAL).
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak legislation has been enacted to allow Parish Councils to conduct meetings using video conferencing while it is not possible to meet in person.
The presentation and meeting will be conducted using Zoom. The agenda contains login details that can be used by members of the public to join the meeting. You will need to paste the link into your browser.
There is also a telephone number which will enable you to listen to the meeting and speak when permitted.
If you have not used Zoom before you are strongly advised to download their app in advance. This will enable you set it up on your device and familiarise yourself with its operation.

The District Council’s 10 public toilets will reopen from 22 June on a restricted-hours trial basis between the hours of 11am and 3pm, ensuring the facilities can be operated and cleaned safely during the continuing coronavirus crisis. During this time they will be cleaned by council staff on three occasions and the situation will be reviewed after a two-week trial.
Bakewell stallmarket will also reopen on 22 June, with a maximum of 90 stalls and a new social distancing configuration including a one-way configuration for shoppers. The market’s opening hours will be reduced from 9.30am to 2pm while the coronavirus crisis continues.

On Sunday people from Parwich and other local villages come together on Zoom to consider our Spiritual Communion – our relationship with God – while we can’t be in our churches and receiving bread & wine. The service will include traditional hymns played live by our resident pianist. The words are distributed in advance and displayed on screen so that you can sing along but without anyone else hearing you!
The congregation will be gathering between 1730 and 1800:
