A very tentative request: an American couple, keen supporters of Derby County FC (!), will be staying in my S/C cottage from Saturday 22 April, have tickets to watch DCFC play on that day (it looks like a 3 o’clock start).
They may possibly be interested if anyone is able to offer them a lift into and/or from Derby/Pride Park.
Please call Saskia on 440 if you think you may be able to help.

7.50 am. There has been an accident after Bradbourne Mill heading towards Ashbourne. There are 2 cars involved, one on it’s roof. Police hadn’t arrived but are no doubt on their way.

Gerald Lees was heard by many giving an interview to Radio Derby on reaching the amazing milestone of 55 years working at Longcliffe. You can read about Gerald and his long service at the quarry here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-65139175?fbclid=IwAR3hv00QQP7pwDU8QDGLTb9j8k8SPdj6vhqBRnzMZ39Br-dt5_BKcoepwX0

The Parish Council is interested in paying to have the public toilets at Parsons Croft car park cleaned on a regular basis.
We are looking for someone to visit weekly. Timing is completely flexible. Perhaps it would suit someone who already cleans in the village to add an hours work while they are here? Maybe you know someone who might be interested? If you do please let them know.
There are two toilets, two basins and two floors to clean and supplies to be topped up. Cleaning materials and supplies can be stored in the mower shed next door. So no need to bring anything to the site.
Currently the toilets are not open to the general public. They are typically used only by Parwich School, the Bowls Club and for events on Parson’s Croft. They are only open in spring, summer and autumn as the water is switched off in the winter.
Can anyone interested please contact the Clerk, Andrew Martin on 0783 737 6370 or by e-mail at clerk@parwichparishcouncil.org.uk
Thank you

The Blog has retained everything which has been posted back to it’s inception . We hold a vast number of photographs which take up much of the storage space for which we pay additional storage charges. Up imtil 2013 these photos were placed in a photo gallery which can be viewed here https://parwich.org/photographs/ . Photos after this date haven’t been organised in this format and are found in the main body of the posts.
We are considering deleting some of these photos to create additional storage space. We are thinking of retaining all Wakes photos ( but do we need a photo of every runner in the Hill Race each year?) and other village events. But what about classified ad photos or nature and wildlife photos? What about photos of the area which might form an historical record?
We really want to know what you think we should keep and what can be safely deleted. If you could spend a little time looking at the photo gallery to give you an idea of what is curently stored and then send us some feedback it would be greatly appreciated.

We are in the process of tidying up the Blog. Some of the information we have on groups and societies which can be found here https://parwich.org/village/directory-of-local-groups-organisations/ is out of date. Are there any groups which need removing and are there any new groups which need adding?
Those groups which have links in this directory have more detailed information. Much of this needs updating. If your group and society is one of these, please could you review the information we hold and let us have any updates?
Many thanks

We were wondering if anyone had reported having eggs thrown at their house and/or car on the afternoon of Thurs 23 Mar.
We had eggs thrown at ours sometime between 2-6pm, unfortunately they’d started setting when we realised.
Also, this morning leaving the Village for work I saw a couple of empty egg cartons on the verge outside the Village, so wondered if anyone had had eggs stolen as well?
Thanks
