With the news today we are going in tier 3 I’m really keen to try and create just a little bit of Christmas magic in Parwich. I’m hoping to create an elf trail around the village but I need your help! My plan is to create a map and it will show where the elves are hiding in the village. Ideally I would love some households in Parwich to draw and hide an elf in their garden or window displaying a letter, which when all put together spell out a Christmas word. The maps could be collected from the shop and then returned with the answer to claim a little treat.
If you would be interested in drawing, printing or creating an elf please let me know and I can start planning the route and let you know what letter you will be.
Thanks a million in advance – Lucy M lucywigley@googlemail.com, 390737 or Facebook messenger me

*** Change of dates to 18th Dec, 15th Jan and 12th Feb ***
The Mobile Library Service will call at Parwich between 12:15 and 1:00pm on Friday 18th Dec, 29th Jan and 26th Feb.
The service is operating a `book and borrow’ system, which means customers need to phone to book an appointment on one of the numbers below, and will be able to pick up a maximum of 10 books.
Appointment times will last 5 minutes, and for the time being customers will not be able to select their own books by stepping onto the vehicle. Instead, they will be asked what type of books they like reading and a selection will be made for them so they can pick them up at their allotted time.
All returned books will be quarantined for 72 hours and customers will need to bring their own bag to pick up their books.
As the service is mornings only it will not be possible to visit all the usual stops, and new routes have been introduced. This will be reviewed over the coming weeks and months.
Customers affected by the changes can contact ask.library@derbyshire.gov.uk or call 01629 533444 to discuss receiving ahome library service during this period.

The next meeting of Parwich Parish Council will be held on Wednesday the 18th November 2020 at 7:30 pm.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak Parish Councils continue to be advised not to meet face to face unless this is the only way that they can conduct their business.
The meeting will therefore once again be conducted using Zoom. The agenda contains login details that can be used by members of the public to join the meeting.
There is also a telephone number which will enable you to listen to the meeting and speak when permitted.
If you have not used Zoom before you are strongly advised to download their app in advance. This will enable you set it up on your device and familiarise yourself with its operation.

Val, Simon, Phil and Rosie want to thank everyone for their support over the last few weeks, and especially on Tuesday. It was very much appreciated to have so many friends and villagers at the church to welcome the funeral cortege, with special thanks going to the Parwich Oddfellows who gave a guard of honour for John.
There is an audio recording of the eulogy given by Mick Edge which we will try and post somewhere when technology allows, for those who were unable to come into the church and hear it in person.
Donations received are to be split between Ward 216 at Royal Derby and Cancer Research UK, the total currently stands at just over £800.
Thank you again x

You can Protect a Tree in the Amazon Rainforest to help offset some of your emissions or Plant a Tree here in the UK to help our environment and reduce emissions in the future, or do both! If this is something you are interested in, please visit the ‘Carbon Offset’ section in our Club Store for more infomation.
