Special dispensation has been given by the Government for Remembrance Day commemorations. The Peak Five outdoor service will be at the Parwich Memorial inside St Peter’s Church gates starting at 10.45am on Sunday 8th November. To comply with lockdown regulations, please gather while social distancing by household and refrain from socialising. Scanning the QR Code will give track and trace compliance. 2 meter distanced markers will be used. St Peter’s will be open from 2-4pm for the lighting of candles and private prayers to remember those we have loved and lost.
Has anyone lost a large (metal) barrel in the verge just past Hillcrest on the way out of the village? It’s been there for about a week or more. It has a painted green and yellow band, ‘Howard …’ on the side and an orange sticker with ‘Sira …’ on the top. I wouldn’t be able to distinguish a beer barrel from one with gunpowder in it, but someone may recognise it from the description. Please don’t cause a stampede as it may well be empty. Saskia T
Hi Parwich neighbours! I’m after a big (and FREE!) piece of plywood or some sort of wood I could make a giant chalkboard sign with for a work project. As big as possible, although our clever volunteers could probably piece them together. We could meet at a mutually agreed outdoor space for a 2 metre distanced handover. I probably should have asked about this BEFORE bonfire night! 😊

Thank you so much to David and Christine G their Halloween display is amazing. Our kids have had a brilliant time looking at all the Halloween items around the village, in their words – “Best Halloween ever”.
My brother delivers fresh fruit and vegetables, he has delivered a huge amount to us today and I have excess items if anyone would like them free of charge. As you can see we have apples, oranges, 4 lettuces, butternut squash and some shallots. Let me know if would like anything and I can leave on the drive for you. Thanks
Oil prices extended their slump this week as major economies in Europe renewed lockdowns to fight the second wave of the coronavirus. Brent Crude falls below $38 a barrel this week for first time since May 2020. Delivery times are currently between 7 and 10 working days.
Tip: You can now make your oil green with The Oil-Club! We are very happy to tell you we have now partnered with Carbon Footprint to offer you, our members, the option to offset the carbon emissions generated by your heating oil.
You can Protect a Tree in the Amazon Rainforest to help offset some of your emissions or you can Plant a Tree here in the UK to help our environment and reduce emissions in the future, or do both! On Saturday the 31st October two trees at the Millennium Green on the bank above Rowan Cottage are planned to be cut down for safety reasons. At this time the contractors still intend to go ahead but this may be subject to the weather conditions on the day.
Some of the wood, cut small enough to be safely taken away by wheel barrow will be left on the Green for anyone who wishes to take it away for fire wood. Anyone wishing to collect some of this wood must wait until the contractors have completely cleared the site. Please take are when collecting any wood. If you chose to take any wood this will be taken as acceptance that you are doing so at your own risk. If you are collecting wood no vehicles should be taken onto the Green or allowed to block the road.
Any wood left in the driveway of Rowan Cottage is not for public collection.

There’s a black and white border collie dog, with a shortish tail, looks like farm dog, very wet and wandering around The Orchards / Dodds Hill area – 2pm
We wish to communicate to the village the sad news that our mother, Rachel Robinson, wife of Andrew Robinson and resident of Church Farm in the village from 1997 – 2012 passed away peacefully ten days ago at her home on the south coast. Due to all the restrictions at this time, my brother and I have arranged a small family funeral at St Peters this Friday at midday. We are able to extend the invite to anyone interested to be on the village green to see in the coffin at approximately 11.45 a.m. as well as joining the family for the burial at around 12.45 p.m. Our family will then be around the village across Friday as the grandchildren (Grace, Noah, Molly, Woody, Isaac, Rex and Seth) and our wives (Derryn and Sally) have many happy memories that they wish to re-explore since the happy Parwich days that they remember so vividly. Many thanks and best wishes. Mark and Jim Robinson, Andrew and Rachel’s sons. We are happy if you wish to pass on my email address to anyone wishing to communicate with us at this time. This year’s Memorial Hall Committee AGM will be held virtually via Zoom. Details of the link to join the meeting will be published prior to the meeting.
There has been little change in oil prices over the past few weeks. With low demand being offset by production cuts by OPEC+ members, Brent Crude remains between $42 and $43. However, suppliers are seeing an increase in demand as the weather turns colder. Delivery times are currently between 7 and 10 working days.
Tip: With the weather turning wetter and more rainfall on its way, it might be a good idea to ensure no water has made its way into your tank, as if sucked up into your system it can cause real issues. Water Scavengers are dropped into your tank to absorb any water sat at the bottom of your tank.
You can find a selection of different sized Water Scavengers in our Club Store, as well as Water Test Kits if you wish to check your tank for water first.
