I am Robert McCabe, son of George who passed away in Devon in December. As many of his old friends could not attend, we are having a memorial service at Alsop on Sunday the 8th of March. You will see reference to this in the diary but it does not say who the memorial is for. Would you be good enough please to mention this on you blog?
Many thanks
Rob

In case you haven’t experienced them yet: there are several more potholes on the way out to the B5056, mainly between the Pikehall turning and the Wigley’s. Some are small but vicious! I have reported them via the form on the DCC website. Please do the same as it may help to speed up repair.

Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club
Brent Crude prices were trading up this week, with traders anticipating a swift end to the current Coronavirus crisis that has created demand problems for the world’s largest importer, China.
Estimated delivery times are up to 10 working days. If you are low on oil, this order will not be suitable. Delivery times are estimated and subject to supply and weather conditions, so please order early. For peace of mind, we always recommend ordering when you have around six weeks supply in cold conditions.
TIP: Have you checked your tank since Storm Dennis and Ciara? It is a good idea to make a visual inspection every now and then, just to confirm your meter is working correctly, and to check the condition of your tank for any problems, such sags, cracks, or damage after the recent weather.
Rate: £0.3896 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

We will be updating the Parwich.org Diary page by the middle of this next week, so if you have any Alsop, Ballidon, Parwich or Pikehall events (March, April) that you want to go in the Diary in time to be included in the Peak Five Church Magazine’s March issue please send them in by Tuesday (25th February).
Including our Diary in the Church magazine is important as it helps you reach those who are not on-line, as well as those in some of the neighbouring parishes.
Please send Diary information to parwich@hotmail.co.uk
Thanks
Steve

Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club
After dropping over the last few weeks, Brent Crude has bounced back up to around $58 a barrel today as evidence has indicated that OPEC is cutting production by more than was originally forecast in the wake of the Covid-19 virus outbreak.
Estimated delivery times are up to 10 working days. If you are low on oil, this order will not be suitable. Delivery times are estimated and subject to supply and weather conditions, so please order early. For peace of mind, we always recommend ordering when you have around six weeks supply in cold conditions.
TIP: With the heavy rainfall over the last few weeks it might be a good idea to ensure no water has made its way into your tank, as if sucked up into your system it can cause real issues. Water Scavengers are dropped into your tank to absorb any water sat at the bottom of your tank.
You can find a selection of different sized Water Scavengers in the Club Store, as well as Water Test Kits if you wish to check your tank for water first.
Rate: £0.3937 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

The days are getting longer and signs of spring are beginning at Pump Hill.
A little bird told me that having now been granted the wish of an Olympic sized bird bath cum water fountain, he/she would love a new house.
This is a chance for all creative handy people to build something for our little feathered friends. Robins, tits, wrens, barn owls, sparrows are all looking for accommodation.
Not to mention insects and bees as well. Do please get involved!
