There is a tree blocking Monsal Lane a little further from Littlewood Farm. Walkers can squeeze under the branches on the right hand side if agile. Otherwise go round the long way. Not passable by vehicle.

There are reports of flooding on the way to Ashbourne and rain water in the ‘dip’ near the Ballidon turn off is very high, probably only passable in a 4 x 4.
If anyone has any further information / updates, please let us know.

If you are worried about flooding you will find sand and empty sandbags in the bin by the entrance to the Sycamore car park.
If the sandbags run out there are more at Fernlea opposite he Memorial Hall. Just call round.
There are also a small number of “flood sacs” suitable for stopping up the bottom of a door against rising water.

We can assist with tasks such as collecting prescriptions, shopping, signposting to other useful organisations and services, helping ensure someone’s living environment is warm and homely, arrangement for key-safes and simple telecare, as well as working alongside other professionals and agencies to enable a person to stay in their home longer.
