Oil Price Coming Down?

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Brent crude ends the week up at $67 a barrel. However with suppliers not as busy as they would expect for this time of year, we have seen both rates and delivery times remain similar to last weekend.

TIP : Over time water builds up at the bottom for the tank through condensation. To prevent this causing issues, I recommend using a water scavenger which will absorb contaminated water in the tank. Its simple to use, just fix the cord to the tank and drop in the scavenger. For more information please visit the club shop.

Rate:  £0.4512 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

PARWICH PRIMARY SCHOOL PTA

Bags2School

Next Collection

Wednesday 20 March 2019

Please, drop off bags of donations at school by 9am.

For information: This is a great fundraiser for Parwich Primary School.  Bag2School are a non-profit making organisation who collect and remove for recycling unwanted clothing items etc. School is provided with collection bags which are distributed amongst families, who fill the bags (please use bin liners if you have lots of items) with their unwanted items of clothing, shoes, bags, belts, bed linen, towels, curtains, soft toys etc. (no bric-a-brac!).  The bags are brought into school on the morning of collection day, and Bag2School collect, weigh them and pay school, via the PTA, an amount depending on the total weight of items collected.

We would welcome members of the community to bring any unwanted clothes, shoes,

bags, soft toys etc. in to school by 9am on Wednesday 20 March ready for collection.

The more bags we collect, the more money is raised for school funds!

Please ask friends and relatives if they have any suitable items to donate – in bin liners or similar is fine!

 Many thanks for your help!

Legion Bingo – Change of Day

We have received the following message from the Legion:

Reflecting on last week’s bingo, we have made some changes …. Please note there will be NO BINGO this week.

Dog Fouling

This from the Parish Council-

Concerns about dog fouling on the Parson’s Croft playing field have again been raised with the Parish Council. Like all open public spaces in the Village, Parsons Croft is already covered by a Derbyshire Dales Public Space Protection Order. This makes failure to clear up dog fouling an offence for which a fixed penalty can be issued.

If the problem continues, the Parish Council may feel that it has no alternative but to consider applying for a Dog Control Order (DCO) banning dogs from the area altogether.

The Council would be very reluctant to take this step, recognising how unfair it would be to the majority of responsible dog owners. But it has also to consider how unfair it is to residents, and particularly children using the area, to expose them to the health risks caused by illegal dog fouling.

If a DCO had to be introduced, responsibility for the injustice caused to some would lie clearly with those dog owners who had caused the problem.

Please help the Council to avoid the need to consider such a measure by ensuring that these concerns as widely understood as possible.

Instances of dog fouling should be reported here,

http://www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/environment-and-waste/roads/street-care-and-cleaning/dog-fouling

This will bring them to the attention of the enforcement officers who can issue fines. It is not necessary to identify the offender in order to make a report. It is possible to request removal of faeces, but if it has been dealt with this can be noted on the report.

Oil Price Coming Down?

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Brent crude ends the week slightly down at $64 a barrel and with suppliers not as busy as they would expect to be this time of year, we have seen both rates and delivery times ease a little further this week.

TIP : Please take time to inspect your tank for cracks and sags. If your tank is rusty or your plastic tank has cracks or is not fully supported, drivers may refuse to deliver. Suppliers are under more pressure to ensure safe delivery from the Environment Agency and their own insurers.
