Oil Price Up

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Brent Crude hovers around $59 dollars a barrel this week as the oil market faces a near-term supply deficit, despite the growing cracks in the global economy and the stagnant oil demand. The combination of the OPEC Plus cuts, the worsening supply disruptions in Iran and Venezuela, and a slowdown in U.S. shale, have all helped maintain the current levels. Delivery times are 5 to 10 working days.

TIP: With the long weekend ahead, it is a good time to check your tank levels if you have not already done so recently, and is a good time to start thinking about filling up for the winter months. Suppliers start to see an increase in demand during September as we all prepare for the winter.

Rate:  £0.4690 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

Fleabag Tickets

Update: SOLD

I bought two Armchair tickets for £40 at Northern Lights cinema in Wirksworth for this live screening of the original Fleabag on 12th Sept at 7.30, but unfortunately we now can’t go and they don’t give refunds. It is sold out now so here’s a great chance to get tickets!

Ring me on 01335 216238 or call round to Fernlea, opposite the memorial Hall, if you would like to buy them off me.

NT Live: Fleabag

See the hilarious, award-winning, one-woman show that inspired the BBC’s hit TV series Fleabag, broadcast live to cinemas from London’s West End. Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Killing Eve) and directed by Vicky Jones, Fleabag is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life.

Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.

Oil Price Steady

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Brent Crude hovers around $58 dollars a barrel this week as the trade war between the U.S. and China continues dominate the oil market. Delivery times are 5 to 10 working days.

TIP: With autumn just around the corner, please check the condition of your tank. Many suppliers require their drivers to inspect the tank for cracks and sags, and may not deliver if the driver finds a problem or is not able to carry out a full inspection. Therefore, please ensure the driver has unrestricted access to your tank. If in doubt, please ask your boiler engineer to inspect the tank as soon as you can.

Parwich Bowls Club

Now usually when we play Matlock Golf Club, we struggle to play well on their large green which is always closely cut, and conversely, they find our small, slower green quite difficult. This year we lost comprehensively on their green and were hoping for better things on their visit to us on Tuesday evening. We did improve but still lost 63-69. The match break-down was in fact 2 games each but sadly our 2 losing pairs scored less than their 2 losers.

Thursday afternoon we entertained league leaders, Wirksworth; we are of course propping up the bottom of the league so we were not expecting any favours and indeed that was the case! We lost all 3 doubles games but won 5 of the 6 singles, eventually losing the match 111-128. Quite a good result considering our relative league positions.

Next year, given that we are still playing, we should find the 2nd division teams are of a similar ability to ourselves. Unless, of course, any new members (THERE MUST BE SOME OUT THERE) can help us improve.

This Sunday we have a friendly against Ellastone at 2pm. Everyone is welcome.

Missing Cat

Just to let you know.. Runt is home safe and sound. Thank you to two lovely people hearing him when they were tending to their horses. I was trying too hard not to cry and didn’t get their names.
Thank you for your help.
Lauren

Last seen around 11pm last night. He’s called ‘Runt’ and he’s 17, practically deaf and can’t see very well. He’s tabby and white. Very wobbly gait and he’ll probably be tilting his head to the left. It’s very unusual for him to go wandering.

Oil Price Down

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Despite the continued escalation of tension in The Gulf, oil prices have dropped to $57 dollars a barrel as the trade war between the U.S and China escalates. Delivery times are 5 to 10 working days.

TIP: Over time water builds up at the bottom of a tank through condensation. To prevent this causing issues, we recommend using a water scavenger which will absorb contaminated water in the tank. It is simple to use, just fix the cord to the tank and drop in the scavenger. Or if you would like to test for water you can use a Water Test Kit. For more information please visit The Club Store.

If you would like to upgrade your fuel to premium, additives can be purchased from The Oil-Club Shop. If you have an AGA or Rayburn, then please ensure you order the Cooker additive.

Parwich Panoramic Five Results

Big thank you to all those who helped set up the event, all the race marshals, time keepers, and race control. Over £350 was raised for the Memorial Hall.

We had 80 runners in the main race – thank you to all the runners for coming to join us. No records were broken but the rain kept away.

Many thanks

I am working in Matlock but am finding the journey very difficult. When we moved here some weeks ago, my employer was going to provide transport, but that fell through. Does anyone regularly travel to Matlock who would like a contribution towards petrol in exchange for lifts? I work shifts (days 0800 to 2000, nights 1930 to 0800) and would ideally like to keep my current job.

Alternatively I would be interested in any work more local to Parwich; I have experience in bar/catering, management, admin (some years ago), customer service and am currently working as a Support Worker.

Children’s Sunday Football?

Children’s Friday football to become Sunday football???

Due to work commitments James and I are thinking of moving the Friday football to Sunday morning (9.00am – 10.00am).

Sunday works for us both and the early start time still allows everyone to make the most of the day.

It will also give us an advantage that we could play for longer in the year on the grassed area, as opposed to the hard courts.

I have discussed this idea with a number of residents at Parsons Croft who don’t see any issues. I welcome any feedback from other Parsons Croft residents and parents of the children.

Many thanks

Jason and James

Bowls Club Report

The good, the bad and the ugly!

The good bit about this week’s efforts down on the bowling green was a home win against Bradwell 64-59. Although the match finished 2 games each Parwich had the better scores, Rick and Edith having the best result coming in at 21-8, Tony and Sue not far behind at 21-9.

The bad result came on our visit to Hope Works where we lost 114-121, and this was against their B team! We play their A team in 2 weeks time. However, Fran and Clare had a magnificent win 21-20 being behind throughtout the game until the 23rd and final end. Harry also played particularly well winning 15-1.

The ugly reference concerns one of our other pairs who lost 21-4 (their opponents did play particularly well) but their names have been withheld to protect the not so innocent!

This Sunday we will be having a little competition amongst ourselves down at Parson’s Croft. Spectators and potential new members are welcome.

Oil Price

imageUpdate for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club

Although tensions in the Middle East remain high, Brent Crude continues to be around $63 a barrel as concern over the continuing trade war between the US and China escalates. However, the Pound continues to struggle against the Dollar due to Brexit fears, which has offset any drop in kerosene rates over the last week. Delivery times are 5 to 10 working days.

TIP: It is a good idea to upgrade your fuel to premium fuel with an Exocet additive. Exocet additives lower carbon emissions, stabilise fuel, cleans injectors, inhibit sludge formation in the tank and improves overall fuel performance. Additives can be purchased from The Oil-Club Shop. If you have an AGA or Rayburn, then please ensure you order the Cooker additive.
