I know we don’t often publish events such as these on the blog but I thought this one would be of interest because it starts at Pikehall and because several people within our community are involved with this….

The following has been shared by Derbyshire County Council with our Parish Council.
The DCC Sustainable Travel team are pleased to announce the launch of Derbyshire’s Electric Vehicle charging survey.
Derbyshire County Council (DCC) are working towards developing a comprehensive network of on-street and destination charge points to provide practical and realistic alternative for those EV owners who do not have access to home or work charging facilities.
To determine where demand is highest for future charging infrastructure, DCC are collecting information through a dedicated webpage. If you’re keen to register your interest in electric vehicle charging infrastructure please follow the below link,
Electric vehicle charging in your area – Derbyshire County Council
This survey is asking for resident, business, and visitor views on electric charging infrastructure provision in the County to provide an evidence base to help identify areas of demand and subsequently inform the most suitable locations to provide EV charge points in the future, so the wider audience this can reach the better.
We’d welcome your support in promoting this survey amongst your networks. Once registered, requests will be mapped alongside all other requests received across the County. This information will then be used to identify the most suitable locations to provide EV charge points in the future.
To help you identify your nearest existing charge point please visit www.zap-map.com, which provides live and up to date information on charge point locations.
We thank you for your support and if there are any further Electric Vehicle or Active Travel related enquiries, please contact the Sustainable Travel Team at sustainable.travel@derbyshire.gov.uk.

Plants are once again for sale outside Rookery House.
You will find divisions and seeds from our gardens, from the common to the slightly more unusual, yours for a fraction of the price you would pay in a garden centre, grown using peat free compost to protect our environment.
Sold in aid of Parwich and District Horticultural Society, enabling us in turn to support other village societies annually.

A very tentative request: an American couple, keen supporters of Derby County FC (!), will be staying in my S/C cottage from Saturday 22 April, have tickets to watch DCFC play on that day (it looks like a 3 o’clock start).
They may possibly be interested if anyone is able to offer them a lift into and/or from Derby/Pride Park.
Please call Saskia on 440 if you think you may be able to help.

Gerald Lees was heard by many giving an interview to Radio Derby on reaching the amazing milestone of 55 years working at Longcliffe. The Parish Council is interested in paying to have the public toilets at Parsons Croft car park cleaned on a regular basis.
We are looking for someone to visit weekly. Timing is completely flexible. Perhaps it would suit someone who already cleans in the village to add an hours work while they are here? Maybe you know someone who might be interested? If you do please let them know.
There are two toilets, two basins and two floors to clean and supplies to be topped up. Cleaning materials and supplies can be stored in the mower shed next door. So no need to bring anything to the site.
Currently the toilets are not open to the general public. They are typically used only by Parwich School, the Bowls Club and for events on Parson’s Croft. They are only open in spring, summer and autumn as the water is switched off in the winter.
Can anyone interested please contact the Clerk, Andrew Martin on 0783 737 6370 or by e-mail at clerk@parwichparishcouncil.org.uk
Thank you
