Around 80 percent of Gulf of Mexico oil production remains shut in after Hurricane Ida according to BSEE data, holding oil at around $73 a barrel for Brent Crude this week.
Delivery times 7 to 10 days, but due to driver shortages in some areas these times are now an estimated delivery time, so please allow plenty of time for your order to be delivered. If you are low on heating oil this group order will not be suitable.
TIP: Cut back any overgrown greenery – As we come to the end of the summer months, greenery is at its fullest. Therefore it is a good idea to cut back any overgrowth that may be surrounding your tank or obscuring access to your property, so that the tanker drivers are able to access your property, inspect whether the tank is safe, and to deliver your oil safely. Drivers are required to inspect at least 3 sides of a tank, and may not be able to successfully complete a delivery if this is not possible or their access is obscured.

We have a couple of weeks to catch up on since my last report on the World of crown green bowling, two weeks have elapsed and it’s fair to say that these have brought mixed fortunes indeed for the Parwich Team.Unfortunately the Tuesday game at home to Hope Works was called off as Hope failed to get a team together. For whatever reason their facility has not been open all year and thus their players have had to be on the road playing every match away from home, maybe some of their number are feeling the strain of this. That moved us onto the Thursday when we played at home to Bakewell. Another win was gained, the score being 127 to 104, albeit by a far narrower than Bradwell’s 147-78 triumph over Youlgreave, thus they remain hot on our heels for the top spot and ended that week gaining 20 points on us.Last week quirks of the fixtures secretaries pitted us with two awaydays to Youlgreave. Indeed a hard place to win at as the green is a little more complex, shall we say, than the standard upturned saucer shape of a standard bowling green. The week panned out with us sustaining two fairly heavy defeats against a team to which home advantage has certainly showed this season, but no sour grapes as a title-chasing side must be able to conquer all obstacles and scorn in the face of such difficulties. Not having been there I’m unable to comment in detail on Tuesday’s encounter, but had then to prepare for the vital Thursday game to try and maintain our hold on the top. The team started well, but quickly fell away as home bowlers sent jacks to corners of their green that defied the laws of physics whenever woods were sent after them, and in the end we had to shake hands and take the 137 to 100 defeat on our collective chin. The season now nears its conclusion, only three Tuesday and two Thursday League games left. With Bradwell hot on our heels and a further two games in hand, and Bakewell bringing up a very close third, we would do well to hang on to win the League, but I for one will not give up until the last wood is bowled, as personally at this moment that goal is one I wish for with every fibre of my heart!
The interactive map in the consultation shows the current, previously proposed and latest proposals for changing Derbyshire District Council ward boundaries. “Dovedale & Parwich” and part of what was “Carsington Water” are merged into one ward. The previous proposal was to call this new ward “White Peak”. The revised proposals give the ward the name “Dovedale, Parwich & Brassington”. You can support this change (or not) by responding to the consultation.
The Parish Council wants to have material removed from the Sheepwash and Jubilee Pond to reduce the risk of flooding in the future and improve their appearance.
A tender form for a three year contract has been created on the Parish Council website which can be seen here.
If you are interested in tendering please use the form on the council site or contact the Clerk.
Please bring this opportunity to the attention of anyone else you know who may be interested.

Oil prices rebounded this week after a fatal fire on a major Mexican state-owned platform in the Gulf, which reduced oil production by more than 400,000 barrel per day. Brent Crude is back up to $72 a barrel.
TIP: Avoid Driver Shortages – We are aware of some concern from suppliers about potential driver shortages this winter, which could lead to much longer delivery times. Therefore, please ensure you order in plenty of time and don’t get caught out this winter.

On the outward journey it was thought that our trip to Bradwell would resemble more a WINTER’S TALE. The wild wind howled across the moor; the tall trees bent with rustling leaves, their supple boughs straining to THE TEMPEST; and the moon appeared to dance ‘twixt the swirling stratus and the nimbus. Yet still the bowlers of Bradwell and Parwich contested in convivial manner long into the night amid the darkening gloom to bring honour to their respective villages. Sixteen men and ladies locked in four Herculean doubles contests made up this match, with no bowler conceiving of capitulation for a second. The judging tape was in constant call as close ends required MEASURE BY MEASURE to settle the points. To keep spirits warm the MERRY WIVES OF BRADWELL made steaming mugs of tea AS YOU LIKE IT. The last quartet finally came off in the darkness with Parwich gaining the spoils by 75 points to 63 so, for the visiting team at least, ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL.
No games were played this week in the Thursday league, therefore no changes in positions. Last week’s fixture between Wirksworth and Bradwell was postponed, leaving us on top but with Bradwell now two games in hand and hot on our heels. Parwich have a tough one this coming Thursday with the visit of third-placed Bakewell, this being after another home encounter on Tuesday against Hope Works. Why not come down and roar us home with vociferous support? It might all help to ensure that next week’s report doesn’t read like a COMEDY OF ERRORS….
Oil prices fell further on Friday for the seventh day in a row, the longest run of daily declines since 2019, amid growing concerns about global oil demand and an indication from the Fed it would ease its stimulus program. Brent crude down to $65 a barrel today.
TIP: Don’t get caught out in the cold this winter – please double check your tank is in good condition and your gauge is working correctly so you know you are going into the winter months with a healthy, safe tank.
It is worth doing a visual check of your tank now ahead of the upcoming cold months to ensure there are no sags, cracks or bulges in the tank, that the base of the tank is sturdy and adequate for the tank size and weight, and that the delivery drivers are able to see at least 3 sides of the tank when they do their visual inspections, to avoid any possible refused deliveries.
