A massive thank you to all those who baked, donated and supported our Cake Tombola this afternoon at the Christmas Fayre in the Memorial Hall. We raised a fantastic £197 for Chicks.
A great effort, I couldn’t have done it without you, thank you -Glynis D

Thank you to Richard T for sending us the following:
Defra review of National Parks and AONBs
The Government has asked for an independent review of England’s National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs). You can find more about the work of the review and our Terms of Reference Already the review team, led by Julian Glover and a panel with a range of experiences and interests, has carried out visits and meetings in many parts of England.
We will do more in the months ahead – but we want everyone to have a chance to contribute, whether you live in a National Park or AONB, run a business in them, enjoy visiting, care about landscapes and biodiversity, or represent an organisation with views that might shape and improve our findings. The questions (available as a list in the related documents section below) are a guide: please do not feel you must answer them all – or have to write at great length. We have not set a word length on answers, as we know some people and organisations will want to reply in detail on specific points. However, we ask that where possible you keep each individual answer to no more than 500 words. It is not necessary to reply to every question so please ignore those which you do not think relevant to you. You may find it easier to write your answers elsewhere before pasting them into the text boxes which follow.
Complete the review survey here
The closing date for submissions is 18 December

The Traffic Management department of Derbyshire County Council recently responded to the Parish Council’s concerns regarding vehicle speed in the village. They would not implement a 20mph limit but were prepared to place additional 30mph repeaters in the village.
After this response was posted on the blog the Parish Council received a number of comments from residents and discussed the issue at its recent meeting. As a result the following reply has been sent back to Traffic Management.
The Parish Council also suggests that residents with views on this subject write directly to Traffic Management at
ETC.TrafficManagement@derbyshire.gov.uk
to emphasise their concerns.

| New recycled surface for Tissington Trail during winter closure |
|
A 1.4 mile section of the Tissington Trail we be closed temporarily from 7 December 2018, to allow surfacing and improvement works to take place. The Peak District National Park Authority confirmed the section involved will run from the Thorpe Car Park, and end at Spend Lane Bridge. Works are expected to be completed by the end of February 2019. The closure will see re-surfacing – including the use of 100% recycled, WRAP (Waste Protocols Project) approved aggregates, a widening of the route to support its multi-user status, and associated ditch and drainage works. The temporary closure will also allow tree safety management to take place. |

We have received this from the Parish Council –
Earlier this year the Parish Council was approached about parking caravans on Parsons Croft Car Park. After considering how to make best, and fair, use of the area a policy has been published which can be seen here.

Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club
With Christmas just a month away, please check your tank levels. If you have not already filled up for the year or for Christmas, now would be a very good time. If you are low on oil, this order may not be suitable.
Christmas has come early as Crude oil drops below $60 today, the lowest price in over a year as concern continues over falling demand and increased stockpiles.
TIP : With the increased requirement for biofuels to be added to kerosene, you may wish to purchase Exocet Premium Additive. Premium additives keep fuel fresh for longer, inhibit sludge formation, improves system efficiency and lowers carbon emissions. You can find out more about and purchase a range of exocet additives from the club shop.
You can help reduce harmful diesel emissions, CO2, danger and damage on our roads and to our villages by joining in with our group orders. In doing so we can reduce the number of heavy goods trucks driving through our towns and villages. We have secured a rate and our clubs group oil order terms for this weekend are as follows:
Rate: £0.4798 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

Paul and I want to thank whoever knitted this beautiful cardigan. Paul bought it at the harvest festival but we never found out who made it. Luckily we had a little baby boy who fits it perfectly! I wonder if you may be able to post this for us with our special thanks.
