Refilling of most grit bins is the responsibility of the Highways Authority, Derbyshire County Council. Anyone seeing a bin that needs refilling can call them using the phone number on the bin or make a request via their website. The bin can be identified by a number on it or from a map on the website.
It does no harm if more than one person reports the same bin.
It is possible that there will be delays in refilling bins during the current weather.I have checked the following.
Creamery Lane triangle and the School have plenty.
Pump Hill and Kiln Lane were empty and I have left some of the bags held by the Parish Council for pavement clearance to provide some cover until they are refilled.
The bin at the top of Creamery Lane near Barn cottage is filled by the Parish Council and has two unopened bags of grit by it.
The bin on Smithy Close is the responsibility of Waterloo Housing.
The bin at the telephone exchange is the responsibility of BT and is for their own use.
Please note that the grit in yellow bins is for use on public roads only.
Regards
Andrew Martin

Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club
** We have seen a big jump in rates this week and only a few suppliers have bid for club orders today, many are reporting they are fully booked for the two to three weeks **
If you are low on oil and may run out this group order will not be suitable so please do not add your order – we are not be able to organise quick deliveries.
Please note the delivery time. Delivery times are long and subject to weather and supply conditions. Please do order early and allow plenty of time for delivery to avoid any problems and please check you tank levels, we are all using a lot more fuel than normal. It would be worth a visual inspection as we have had many reports of meters giving false levels over the last few weeks.
If you like the rate, please do spread the word. By grouping our orders, we can also substantially reduce harmful diesel emissions, CO2 and damage and danger to our roads and villages.
We have secured a rate and our clubs group oil order terms for this weekend are as follows:
Rate: £0.5462 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

Catch up bin collections are due to start tomorrow weather permitting. Although that means they are then due to collect our grey general waste and food caddies tomorrow, we are not optimistic that the weather here in Parwich will permit this.
Click here for more info from Derbyshire Dales site
The catch-up of missed waste & recycling collections will start tomorrow (Saturday 3 March), assuming that road conditions have improved. Tomorrow crews will start to collect grey bins/blacks sacks/ food waste and recycling that have been missed this week – starting with Wednesday’s outstanding collections and then Thursday’s and Friday’s. On Monday scheduled grey bin/black sack/food and recycling collections are due to take place. Food waste missed on recycling day this week will be collected next week as scheduled with grey bin/black sacks.

Friday football would like to thank Parwich Independent Welfare Fund for their kind donation and generosity to the Friday football.
Due to the impending weather we will have to cancel Friday football this week. I think it would be more like ice skating
Thanks

David G has had a beautiful Redwing visit his garden this morning. Thank you for sending in the photos David.
There are chances we may see more unusual visitors in our gardens with the bad weather.
Lucky David has also had a Goldcrest visiting his feeder today, poor things must be so cold out there tonight!

Having come back into the village just before 6 pm at -5, the roads are treacherous. Brackendale Lane and Bradbourne Hill are like an Olympic sport. There has been no gritting and getting into the village is hazardous.
