Proposed Mobile Phone Mast

With the Parish Council meeting on Wednesday discussing feedback received and possible next steps I’m a little concerned that many people may have missed the information posted here on the blog as these posts have now disappeared down the page.

I think it’s worth pointing to the information concerning the proposal and also issues and concerns raised in comments on the blog.

The Council website pages has a comprehensive set of information concerning the plans which can be found here

A number of people have expressed concerns to us and have quoted the Mast Sanity site as a good starting point for researching possible negative consequences of a mast so close to the village. Their information on masts can be found here

Mast Sanity and other research expresses concerns regarding health issues for residents within 400m of a mast. Others such as the Government and the NHS say  there are no health issues.

just for interest, here’s the plan of Parwich with 100metre distances from the proposed mast location that was posted previously in a comment.

image

In posting this I wish to make clear I am neither endorsing nor opposing the mast plans but merely seeking to make sure residents of the village are aware and can find the relevant information.

DDDC Local Plan

Although DDDC is not the planning authority for Parwich, the draft Plan for Derbyshire Dales may be of interest.

Deadline approaches for draft Local Plan consultation

The deadline is approaching for local people to have a final say on the Derbyshire Dales Local Plan before it is sent to the Government for examination at the end of the year.

A public consultation, which started on 11 August after a pre-submission draft of the Local Plan was approved at a special full meeting of Derbyshire Dales District Council, ends on 22 September.

An online survey can be completed at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/LocalPlan.

A total of 6,571 homes are earmarked for the district in the pre-submission document, with 28 residential sites allocated – 15 in the central area and 13 in the southern area.

Once approved, the Local Plan will guide local development in the Dales up to the year 2033.

The consultation was supported last month by public meetings in Ashbourne and Matlock, together with a public exhibition that has toured the district and is currently available to view at Matlock Town Hall until 22 September.

Copies of the pre-submission Plan are also available at libraries in Wirksworth, Ashbourne and Matlock, at the District Council’s leisure centres in Ashbourne and Wirksworth and at Matlock Town Hall.

A District Council spokesperson said: “This last round of public consultation is an opportunity for local people to comment on the soundness of the Local Plan. We would stress that only those commenting on the Plan at this stage will have the right to be heard at the Examination in Public in the future.”

At three meetings in July, the council’s Local Plan Advisory Committee considered the views of local people who took part in an earlier public consultation that ran from 7 April to 19 May – including 2,600 comments from around 800 individuals.

Phone Mast Consultation

Thank you Jim for this reminder:

I would just like to make it clear that comments were invited by Pegasus, agents for Shared Access, in relation to the proposed mast application.

Comments are invited by Rachel Morrison, Planning Assistant, at the following email address:

Rachel.morrison@pegasuspg.co.uk

Telephone comments were also invited on 01454 625 945

I would just like to make sure that any concerned residents of the village had this information to hand.

Pegasus have requested that comments are received by them by this coming Friday, 16/09/16 if possible, so that they can be taken into account during the design stage of the proposal. Whether such comments would help them amend their application to take into account any protests is not known by me at this moment.

Jim T

Click here to see the consultation letter.

The Blog Team added: This consultation is on behalf of the mobile phone company, and any proposed mast would need to be agreed by the landowner, and then go through the normal Peak Park planning procedure. Our Parish Council are sharing information promptly on this and [Ammended 12/9/16“Once all the information is available an open session will also be set up in the Memorial Hall. Residents will be able to see the same information as the councillors. Councillors will be present so that residents can share their own views with them.”.

Support Jason, Support Friday Football

The new Friday Football is proving to be very successful, and here is a chance for us all to support it by sponsoring Jason who is running today:

Thank you for all for the sponsorship money and the good luck messages. Anyone still wishing to sponsor me please fill out the sponsor form in the legion or pop around to Hope Croft.

Thanks again!

Mobile Phone Mast

The following images were taken today at the proposed site of the telecommunications structure which will be 12.5 meters to the top.  This was done to assist visualising the height of the mast, the exercise can be repeated again if anyone is interested to see if the mast would be visible from their property.

Note: the object used to measure the height is 30 cm taller than the proposed mast.

The Ashbourne News Telegraph reports that although you can get stamps or post parcels, there is not much else you can do at the Ashbourne Post Office at present:

The lack of full services at the post office inside the Co-op store in the Shawcroft Centre is now into its second week.

It is not known how quickly the difficulty will be resolved. Click here to see the full article. The nearest alternatives for us are Hartington and Winster, click here to find out more about local branches on the Post Office website.

Mobile phone mast information

Thank you to the Parish Council for this update:

Some members of the Parish Council have met with a representative of Shared Access to obtain more information about the potential for a mobile phone mast in the village. They will be receiving further information shortly and have requested it in electronic form so that it can be shared widely. The blog and the Parish Council website will be used to do this.

Once all the information is available an open session will also be set up in the Memorial Hall. Residents will be able to see the same information as the councillors. Councillors will be present so that residents can share their own views with them.

It is not the Parish Council that will decide whether a mast will be built. This will be done through the normal process of planning applications for the Peak District National Park. The Parish Council would be consulted as part of this process but would not be making the decision.

The Parish Council does have the opportunity to decide whether or not to offer to lease land for the mast to be built on. The purpose of sharing information with residents will be to try and give the best possible understanding of the advantages and disadvantages for residents of them doing this. If the Parish Council does not offer a site for a mast someone else might.

The Parish Council would like to encourage residents to learn as much about these proposals as possible and to feed back their views both for and against the lease of land.

First Division Here We Come

PARWICH CROWN GREEN BOWLS CLUB

Last week of the season, no more twaddle to read. We did achieve a memorable place in the Thursday League though. We were in top position albeit for one week!

Matlock Tuesday League.
Home – Ashwood Park – 6 September – 6.00pm.

Ashwood were in a very solid third place in the league with the possibility of going second. Dot H, holding John B’s hand very firmly, guided the pair to a 21 – 18 win. Dennis E and Sue A unfortunately could not keep the momentum going and went down 12 – 21. Back came Dawn A and Tony A with a resounding win 21 – 11. Only Rick and Edith to go unfortunately they came second 17 – 21 again. Final result was another draw 71 points each. Probably a fair result. I think that this will keep us mid table.

Matlock Thursday League.
Away – Matlock Bath – 8 September – 1.45pm.

So there we were top of the league! All we had to do was to keep our nerve and play our little socks off.

Matlock’s green is the shape of a fifty pence piece and not much bigger. No problems with corner to corner jacks. Although we only won one doubles game we were 46 – 58 down. We shared the singles games three each, although our scores were better than Matlock’s. After the singles we won 77 – 72 not quite enough to get us a win. With Bakewell, the league’s best club playing at home our chances of retaining top spot are slim. Still to come second is a really good result. Final score Matlock 130, Parwich 123. Even if the team in third place got a maximum score we cannot be beaten for second, so first division here we come.

Have a good winter every one and be prepared for more fabulous crown green bowling next year. Why not come and join us.

John B.
