Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club
Brent Crude has remained relatively stable this week at around $63 a barrel. Increased demand which would normally push up the costs is being offset as the markets worry about the 3rd wave of the pandemic and reports of new lockdowns circulate, particularly across Europe.
Delivery times are 7 to 10 working days from Club order on Monday. Please note the delivery times are estimated and subject to supply and weather conditions. If you are low or have run out then this group order will not be suitable.
TIP: Check your oil level: With the continued cold weather we are all using a lot more fuel. Please make a visual inspection of your tank levels and order in plenty of time.
Rate: £0.3650 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

Thanks to Helen P for the following:
Severn Trent have been out to the footpath between Japonica/Dam Farm to Flat Style. They have cemented around the raised manhole cover and use some of the remaining cement in one of the holes on the path. The footpath is currently roped off. The rope will be removed tomorrow morning.

Church on Sunday – Easter Day
With Christians celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, there are two opportunities for worship in Parwich provided by our village churches:
- 11am in the church: A short service of Holy Communion with social distancing. Masks are essential. Hymn singing will occur at the end of the service outside after which the congregation are asked to disperse without socialising.
- 6pm on Zoom: Easter Praise. There will be opportunity to sing loudly in your own homes without anyone hearing you!
Both services led by Rev Carollyn. Contact her on 664132 for further details, including for Zoom access by laptop, tablet and any kind of phone.

Church today
Good Friday is the day when Christians focus on Jesus’ death on the cross, traditionally with services ending at 3pm, the time recorded for Jesus’ death.
We’re doing that this year with a service on Zoom starting at 2pm. ‘Stations of the Cross’ is a quiet service, where we follow and reflect on the events of the first Good Friday.
To join by computer, tablet or any kind of phone please contact Rev Carollyn on 664132.

Thanks to everyone who has contacted me about decorating your houses and gardens for the Easter weekend. Just to confirm this is an informal hunt – there isn’t a map and you don’t have to let me know, people can decorate at will and then wander around as they wish and try and spot some of the Easter themed creations.
I’ve already spied a few so thank you, hopefully they will bring a smile to lots of faces and I know some children very eager to go find them all (as long as I take some chocolate and treats along with us!).
Any questions at all please don’t hesitate to contact me – lucywigley@googlemail.com – and hopefully we will see some of you hunting over the weekend.
Happy Easter

Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club
The unfortunate tanker mishap in the Suez Canal blocking tanker traffic is being overshadowed by yet another wave of coronavirus-inspired lockdowns. Brent Crude remains around $63 a barrel.
Delivery times are 7 to 10 working days from Club order on Monday. Please note, the delivery times on this order are estimated and subject to weather and supply conditions. Please also allow for the extra bank holiday days around Easter.
TIP: Upgrade your fuel and benefit from member discounts – We have a selection of Additives available in The Oil-Club Store with discounted Club prices for our members only, at lower than regular retail prices. It is a good idea to upgrade your fuel to Premium fuel with a bottle of Exocet Additive which will lower carbon emissions, stabilise fuel, clean injectors, inhibit sludge formation in your tank, and improve overall fuel performance and efficiency.
If you have an AGA or range cooker (with a wick), then please ensure you order the Cooker Additive. To find out more about Additives and Club discounts, please login and visit our Club Store.
If you are already very low or have run out, this group order will not be suitable, especially as delivery times will be slightly longer due to the Easter bank holiday days.
Rate: £0.3750 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

A vacancy has arisen on Parwich Parish Council following the resignation of Jacqui Jesson.

This is just a quick note to say Wakes this year falls on Saturday 26th June. As you can see this is very close to the government date!! The Carnival Committee, Pub, Legion and Odd Fellows are all starting to plan what we can and can’t do. Obviously this will all depend on the rules set by the government but as soon as we know more we will let you know.
If anyone is willing to join the very small Carnival Committee, to help where you can, please email lucywigley@googlemail.com
Alternatively just drop me an email with any good ideas you have.
Thanks and keep your fingers crossed!

Update for Bradbourne & Parwich Heating Oil Club
Oil prices plummeted by 10 percent this week as a rise in the U.S. dollar, the rising U.S. crude inventories, and fresh setbacks in vaccination programs in Europe weighed on the market. Brent Crude is now $63 a barrel.
Delivery times are 7 to 10 working days from Club order on Monday. Please note, the delivery times on this order are estimated and subject to weather and supply conditions.
TIP: Avoid water causing issues in your tank – As winter draws to a close it is a good idea to put a Water Scavenger into your tank to absorb and remove any water that may have entered your tank during the wetter months, to prevent water being sucked into your system and causing issues. It is simple to use, just fix the cord to the tank and drop in the Scavenger and its water absorbing polymers will absorb only water and no oil. Once the Scavenger is full just remove from tank and dispose of.
Or if you would like to test for the presence of water first, you can purchase a Water Test Kit. For more information please visit The Club Store.
If you are already very low or have run out, this group order will not be suitable.
Rate: £0.3885 (pence per litre excluding vat [5% for Domestic use])

For all those who have been doing their best to keep the wild bird population and other people’s poultry flocks safe by restricting their own birds, today’s government announcement comes as very welcome news:
19 March 2021: The risk of avian influenza to both wild and kept birds has reduced to ‘medium’. The Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) requiring enhanced biosecurity will remain in force but Wednesday 31 March 2021 will be the last day poultry and other captive birds will need to be housed (housing restrictions end 23:59 31 March 2021). Bird gatherings are still prohibited. High standards of biosecurity remain essential as infection may still be present in the environment.
